Just think what would happen if a retirement or injury could be used to void a contract as far as the cap hit was concerned. You would have teams offering 10 year deals to 39 year old quarterbacks.

Yeah, that makes sense. But the risk is there without the cap hit. They still have to pay him out the 50 million or whatever it is. Companies don't make a habbit of liking that. Good thing the rookie QB scale is there. Gonna have to have a rookie. Can't afford to sign any good FA.
