Re: Preseason starts tomorrow

Pre-season is usually garbage - super vanilla play-calling and the top 20 players already picked out to start in the first regular season games. The first string players are usually played only for a set or two before the second string comes in. By the second half it’s all guys who won’t even be on the team in less than a month. In a normal year there might be just one or two “Cinderella story” players who are trying to be the fourth string guy or someone who is making the team via Special Team play.

THIS SEASON for this team is different. This team is so up in the air. This is a rebuilding year and the Redskins have actually embraced a “building through the draft” mentality. There are many positions where a rookie or second-year player is trying to move up to a starting position. There are a lot of guys who were rookies last year, who got hurt and are trying to make the team now. Guice, Quinn and Cam Sims were all in that boat. How good are they? Recovered from injury?

This team is really turning over this year and there are a lot of young guys whose TC and pre-season play will determine if they make it this year.

Pre-season means something this year for this team! I think you’ll see 5-10 rookies or second year players make this team - some in starting spots.
