To me it just shows they don't have their shit together and the fact they might have fallen ass backwards into what might be a good thing doesn't change that.

Yep, they definitely handled the PR side of it as poorly as they could.
And it wasn't that hard either: "We take the issue of domestic violence very seriously and if he's guilty he will never play for us. If we're 100% sure he's innocent then we'll give him a chance to play for us".
