Those fans should be ashamed of themselves for throwing beer at Gordon after he won.
I know they are Earnhardt fans, and it would have been his 56th b-day and Gordon just passed him for all time wins, but how about honor Sr. by giving a standing O? Do you think Sr. would have approved of those fans throwing debris?
Gordon is a respectable driver, and is a humble winner...he honored Dale's memory by saying the right things instead of blowing this issue out of proportion, but just because he's from California doesn't mean you should hate him. Gordon is who got me into watching NASCAR being from Boston I was not in the NASCAR circuit, and Jeff pulled me in.
Shame on you fans in Alabama!!!!

i do not like nascar. but this kind of stuff keeps it interesting. they need more of Tony Stewart and less of Jeff Gordon

I actually think that Sr would have approved--wasn't that his rep? The Dominator? Gordon is a pretty boy, blah, blah, blah...

(I am not approving of this myself, but it is NASCAR, where it's part of the sport to "gently" bump into each other at 180 MPH. )

Sr. and Gordon were actually friends and had zero animosity towards each other. I think to casual fans Sr. seemed more menacing but to people who followed NASCAR they knew he was just another guy. It was all marketing. He may have been hell on wheels(and the track) but he was a pretty nice guy off it mostly. No way he'd have approved.

I can just see it now,
NASCAR driver Saduebado became very angry this morning during his press conferences when one reporter asked “why couldn’t you just cut your hair so you wouldn’t need such a huge helmet.”
Saduebabo turned bright red and slammed his fist down before throwing his hummus sandwich at the reporter and running off stage.
He was later witnessed cursing out "a little old lady" and threatening to go "9/11" on reporters and any driver that dared to get in his way.

Tony Stewart said last week that NASCAR was fixed like wrestling. Why not through in some funny character drivers too?

I am not a Gordon fan by any means but the display of the classless redneck Earnhardt fans was just that...classless. All of the Earnhardt fans I have ran across today have said its those bad apples that give NASCAR a bad name.

poeple just tend to not like gordon, myself included. it has nothing to do with him being from california, i just don't like him. i wish i would have been at the race, so i could have thrown something at him as well.

Those stupid fans are going to be ruining it for the rest of the fans. Soon they will be selling beer but the cups instead of cans. That is the best thing about racing-you can bring your coolers and drink from that instead of paying 6 to 8 buck for a beer. If only other sports would let you bring in coolers. It isnt like they would not make much money if they let coolers in.

You're absolutely right. No way Sr. would approve. He was only "the intimidator" on the track.

Why? They need more people that cause wrecks and fewer winners? Stewart is also a prime time whiner. If you are not a fan of his, you hate the guy...and I'm not a fan of his. In fact, I don't like Joe Gibbs racing because he employs that jackass. He is wreckless and causes too many issues both on the track and off. What a joke. He is overrated too...he's no Jeff Gordon that's for sure.

I don't like Stewart, but I support Gibbs racing. Jr. is mt driver when I watch, but that is because I liked his father when I was young.

I have no problem with Jr. He is a respectable member of NASCAR, and does DEI proud. A little overrated, but he's good for NASCAR.


Believe it or not, Jr and Gordon get along fine as well.
