9-11-2006
Let us all pause to remember those killed on our own soil on 9-11-2001.
No matter how you lean politically, take a moment, please. I will never forget. Life is not all about football. Life is love, family, friends, shared moments, sometimes tragedy, sometimes happiness. Life is getting up each day, thanking God both for another day, and all of life's blessings!

Rest in Peace to those lost and kill the bastards responsible for such a hellish act. Hail Skins!

Re: 9-11-2006
Did you hear that they are handing out American flags at the game on Monday. 90,000+ of them, and they're not those tiny ones; they looked like they're about 2'x1' on the news this morning.
That's going to be an amazing site on Monday.

That's going to be AWESOME. It's a two-fold good thing. Number one for remembering those lost and number two it's going to give the 12th man an even bigger advantage.

I'll never forget that day. I work in the financial services industry, and needless to say we were at a standstill for a couple of days.
Definitely a defining moment for our generation. |

Re: 9-11-2006
I still remember the exact moment that I heard about the attack on the Twin Towers. It's kind of weird, I remember my parents telling me that they felt the same way, that they remembered exactly the moment when they heard Kennedy was shot. It's odd how certain experiences can shape a generation.
I send my condolences out to each and every one of the families who lost a loved one in the events that transpired that day. I think this experience allowed me to learn a lot and hopefully gave me some powerful lessons that I will carry with me for a very long time.

Re: 9-11-2006
I remember l was living in L.A. at the time and I had to return a rental car. I was listenting to the radio on my way there and I thought the radio personalities were just acting really weird saying, America under attack.
Well as I entered the place all the agents were glued to the TV, no one was helping anyone. I was like, what's going on? For like ten minutes, I thought it was a horrible joke. Go Skins, let's some Purple all over the beltway around ten o'clock that night!! |

Re: 9-11-2006
I was working in a County government building in PA that day. I had been evacuated from my building without even knowing what was happening yet. I drove to my then-fiance's (now-wife) house and saw the TV. It was hard to believe what I was seeing.
I guess this was how the nation felt on December 7, 1941 too. I live near Three-Mile Island and there was panic that a plane was going to hit it. It was discovered later that nuclear plants were being considered by the terrorists. My wife's family is all from or in NY, so it was especially tough. Her sister lost a guy who was a groomsman in their wedding and a close friend. We had a cousin who was stuck in traffic and could've been in the towers. My aunt works in the federal government in MD but luckily not in the Pentagon. Every generation has an event where people will ask "Where were you when it happened..." Events like the JFK assasination are always seared into the memories of everyone. For my childhood, it was the Challenger explosion...for my adult life, the unforgettable event will be 09/11/01. I hope everyone is thankful to the military and our leadership who have prevented this from happening again. It HAS been planned and attempted...and stopped many times. When we fall asleep completely, we'll end up like Spain, France and even England who get hit when they least expect it. |
