I think its still too early to talk like that. Lavar had his good days too.

Lavar was a beast for 3 years, a pure beast. McIntosh is on his way, but he still has a ways to go.

mcintosh is playing like an all pro, but it doesn't hurt that he's lined up with washington and fletcher...

He is at every tackle and plays with so much aggression and passion. Fun to watch.

56 was a monster for us for a while and no one should forget that. he got hurt and didn't fit in the scheme here in the end but he was the best LB we've ever had for a few years.

Re: Rocky McIntosh is what LaVar should of been
LaVar had too much talent for his own good and that allowed him to get away with things others couldnt. When he hit the pros and really needed to be able to allow himself to be coached and honed he just couldnt dicipline himself to do it.
RM does not have LA's huge talent and I suspect he has been more open to coaching which will allow him to make more use of his talents. |

Re: Rocky McIntosh is what LaVar should of been
Physically Lavar was more superior but I'd say Rocky matches his aggressiveness. I'm glad to be able to watch both of these guys in a Redskins uniform.

Re: Rocky McIntosh is what LaVar should of been
Lavar made plays that were more spectacular. Rocky makes more plays, by being where he's supposed to be.

Rocky is a baller. Give some credit to the front office, they don't screw everything up after all.

Re: Rocky McIntosh is what LaVar should of been
Rocky is talented, dude runs a 4.5-4.6 & he obviously can control his speed & change directions well.
I don't ever remember Lavar making that many plays in coverage where the rb catches the ball in the flats in the open field. Rocky drops in coverage & comes up to make quick tackles on the spot. So far he looks the real deal. |

Re: Rocky McIntosh is what LaVar should of been
It's a little early to say he's what "lavar should have been." I don't even know that we want that. We have ST and LL to knock people out. We just need competent linebacking, playing within the scheme and executing. Lavar was LT Lite. He had a hell of a lot of talent but never put it all together. The two big things that stand out from his career are the hit that ended Aikman's career and the interception return for a td. Our premier player during a dark time for the franchise.

Yeah, I think the hyperbolic thread title overshadows what needs to be stated: Rocky is working out.
