Be Happy

The fact is we came out of the game slow, they returned a kick, had a good drive and before you know it we were down by 14.

The team knew it could not afford to lose the game. To their credit they didn't panic stuck with there guns and phyically beat up the Jets. Without that quick start this game wouldn't have been close. The Line started to get a push and Portis looked like himself again. The pass plays could use some work and we are a bit predictable, but we made BIG plays when we had to.

By the end of the game they could not stop our running at all. We broke them down physically and their receivers were getting scared. They dropped easy passes because they were looking over thier shoulder. While the final score is not what we hoped we are still 5-3.

I just want everyone to remember that and to be happy we found our identity again. Even if we had to spot them a lead.

Don't be negative don't listen to Doc Walker. I like him but he is way off base this week, based on what I heard after the game.

Bring on the Eagles, another must win. Be positive and you'll have a much better week.

I totally agree with that! The TD on the opening kickoff was a big momentum for the jets and then they played well, it was not easy to come back as we did. One more thing, we scored on almost every drive in the first half wich was a good point, except that we weren't able to go into the end zone when we really needed to. Why?? mostly because Campbell was constently under pressure and forced to go out of his pocket too many times. I still think we failed too many times short of the end zone and put 3 points when it could be 7. If we are able to work on this efficiency in the redzone, we'll be a better team.

1. Voice your concerns with the moderators via Private Message

2. When I locked the thread I posted a link to the thread where we were already discussing the Lloyd situation

3. We don't want duplicate threads here and yours was essentially a duplicate thread

4. All you had to do was post your link in the already created thread

5. Your thread title "Bye Lloyd" was misleading anyway. I thought some final decision had actually been made

There's your answer. You posted a duplicate thread. There's no need to start up another thread about the same exact thing.

Re: Be Happy

After sleeping on this game...I don't think this was as big of a "slam dunk" game going into it. The jets haven't been getting blown out, were playing at home, and 1-7 teams are generally desperate for wins. They had nothing to lose and we came back from 14 down. Give this team some credit...that was a tough tough win, and rightfully so.

Re: Be Happy

I came away really impressed with Clemens. I think he's going to be a good QB. He seems to have good poise and that "it" factor.

But I also think it's clear that the Jets' problems aren't at the QB position.

exactly . . . good teams find ways to win games when things arent going their way against inferior opponents. (i hate saying this, but look at the cowboys-bills game; bills had everything going their way but still lost)

matty - i normally agree with you but i came away with the impression that clemens doesnt have the "it" factor . . while he scrambles well (on some of those runs for 1st and on the touchdown when he was flushed out of the pocket and hit that FB for his 1st nfl td) i wasnt impressed with his accuracy or his ability to check down but as the commentators noted he does move around in the pocket well to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes down field much like our JC.

Re: Be Happy

We let them get up on us by 14 points and our team did not drop their heads and showed the will to go get the win. Most people have said it was an ugly win but I think its the opposite as we took their best shots and then came back to win the game. The only big let down was not getting in for a few of those TDs when we had the chances.

Re: Be Happy

The bottom line for me is this.
It goes in the "W" column. We NEEDED it! If I put all the Neg's and Pos's in perspective, we have much work to do, as many things appear broke. I cannot cover all the many problems that we have at this time.
However,......and BIG however, we came back from a substancial deficit (albeit to a basd team), and delivered a Win.
We live to fight another day "still with a winning record" and buy some more time to tune up our team to Hopefully perform at a higher level.
