How Long Will Randy Thomas Be Out?

Anyone heard anything definitive? He's not on IR, so I guess they think he'll play again this year.

All the recent injuries to the OL may force our hand to put him on IR to bring in new linemen. I hope that's not the case, because we have a real shot at the post-season, and Thomas would be a huge late season infusion of talent for the OL.

Yeah, but even if he IS placed on IR, if we make the post-season, couldn't he technically still play in the playoffs? I'm thinking that is true.

Nope. Once placed on IR you are done for the regular season AND the playoffs.

Redskins Insider

The good news is that the Mix kid is big -- 6-5, 235. He can also play special teams, of course, and figures to do a lot of blocking in the jumbo package (a lot of the hitting that James Thrash did).
The departure of DeMulling would seem to signal optimism that Randy Thomas will be back in two or three weeks.

Sorry, Rob I just skimmed the article. Did it say that or are you just speculating?
I would love to have RT back!

We dont want to make the same mistake placing him on IR like we did with Patten, we could have used Patten down the stretch that year. Thomas must have a very good chance at coming back.

Re: How Long Will Randy Thomas Be Out?

he was helping Portis pull his shirt down over his pads during the Dallas game. seems like he has some good flexibility already. lets get him back for the playoff push

Redskins Add Mix, Release DeMulling

Seems like just speculation still but redskins.com said the same thing:

"DeMulling's release could signal that right guard Randy Thomas could be nearing his return from a triceps injury suffered in Week 2."
