Maybe I just have too much time on my hands as of late. I've been reading tons of old threads and posts. I will be the first to admit I haven't been a great supporter of Gibbs II,but isn't it amazing how so many Gibbs haters have all of a sudden replied to the Thank You To The Joe Gibbs thread Matty started?

Now there are some sincere supporters of Gibbs. Matty and Smoot come to mind first because they are mods,but there are many many many others. I honestly think that some members of this forum just want to increase their post numbers or just want to be with the IN crowd. Damn a bandwagon.

Freedom of speech and opinion is a wonderful concept,but I'm quite sure I'll be less than popular after this thread. I'm not a grammar major,I'm not an intellect,I'm just a Skin fan that calls em likes I see's em.

That's because Matty has assigned me the role of bad guy. He's the ego, can do what he wants.

Seriously, what the f are you talking about? Humiliating and embarassing members of this site. Sure I (and others) tease, but this isn't a f'in daycare center. We should all be mature enough to take some good natured ribbing. And sure I (and others) point out when someone brags about one thing but have a history of saying another (see warriorzpath and his Collins rant). But no one is going around with some of sort of mission to humiliate. Are you still whining about my joke to railcon56 about apostrophes? That's pretty pathetic if so.

We had a thread calling people out to admit they were wrong and that the game had passed Gibbs by, then we had another about those that were wrong and gave up on Gibbs. Now there is this one. Where are you all say is I can't believe there are so many hypocrites on this board. First of all, what does it matter today? Secondly, clearly many people have been frustrated with Gibbs not because they aren't fans of his, but because they are and wanted/hoped for more. Third, who are the hypocrites? What are they saying exactly that make them hypocrites. You don't have to name names but if you're going to start a thread like this at least put some meat on the bones.

Finally let me just say this, and the mods all discuss this frequently, people need to start being accountable for themselves here. The moderators all work hard to try to keep the site as clean and relevant as possible. But everyone has to do their part. That means understand the guidelines, PM any of us if you have any questions, don't confuse a locked thread with suppressing opinion, don't respond with anger when anyone questions the validity of a post/thread you created. For those that have been here long enough, this should all be understood. For those that are new, learn it and don't be afraid to ask if you have questions. The moderators are here to help make the entire site a better experience. But if you can't help yourself, there's nothing anyone can do.

not defending anyone but he probably is right. I remember seeing threads on Gibbs and him not being succesful this and that.. and it made me sick sometimes. We had our rough spots with him but in the end like always, he made this football team very good and left it that way when he left.

Not to pile on here, but I just went through the Thank You Gibbs thread no one jumped out that has been a Gibbs "hater". (I don't read all the threads so maybe I'm missing something). There have been folks who disagree with some of the things Gibbs and the coaching staff have done (including me) but by no means does it mean folks are necessarily Gibbs "haters". I called for Gibbs to move into the front office as GM, but certainly not because I'm a Gibbs "hater". I felt he would help the franchise more there than on the sidelines at this point in his career. We're all big boys & girls here, if you want to call folks out, call 'em out.

If you are so small as to get truly worked up by whether or not a member of a football fan site is staying consistently on message, you probably need to get a damn life. I'm so sick of these "told you so" or "only for 'REAL' fans" threads. Normally, I'm a big proponent of "if you don't like it, don't open it" but this just clutters up the board and stirs up animosity. Grow up.

I don't think whether or not people were 100% on board with Gibbs really matters when it comes to showing him some respect and thanking him as he walks out the door. They are two seperate things.

I'm tired of these call out threads lately. Let's stop with this stuff, it's just not necessary.
