Redskins add kicker

http://www.dcprosportsreport.com/articles/washington-redskins/redskins-add-a-kicker-to-roster.html

Dude hasn't kicked in the NFL since 2007 but had a nice season in CFL last year. This can't possibly be Gano's only training camp competition can it?

Re: Redskins add kicker

Not too shabby... of a game...

From the official Redskins Blog:

"Medlock's claim to fame at this point has to be his 7/7 performance in one game for the Toronto Argonauts last August. He was successful from 15, 46, 51, 51, 32, 52 and 17 yards, plus one extra point. Medlock also punted seven times in that game, for a 38.6 yard average. This performance was so notable that it has actually earned its own two-and-a-half minute highlight reel on the Argonauts's website -- even thought they went on to lose the game."

Re: Redskins add kicker

Success is success, especially for a kicker. It's not like the ball is any different in canada than the NFL. We really need a consistent kicker. i'd love to see us sign carney. The guy kicked great for NYG last year and NO this year. We need someone who can hit the gimme's (45 and in) 50+ is bonus in my opinion.

Actually I'm pretty sure the ball is different in Canada...

Always nice to have a CFL boy on the squad. Besides our track record isn't bad with these guys. How'd Sellers turn out, or better yet... Joey T.

i don't think it is. Googled it (i don't know how to post links) and it said it was the same size but the stripes made the cfl ball look fatter.

Seems to me, a lot of kickers bounce around for a few years before they stick with a team. Look at Akers in Philadelphia. Guy was a 5th round pick a couple of years ago, maybe he just needed some time to adjust to the kicking without a tee (Do they use tee in Canada?).
