4-2 the rest of the way?

The magic number is 10 wins folks, and even that might not lock down a playoff spot. So that means the Redskins need to go 4-2 the rest of the way. Do you think it can be done? At this point I have my doubts, but looking at the schedule it's certainly reasonable, assuming they can get some sort of offense going.

11/23 @ Seattle
11/30 vs NY Giants
12/7 @ Baltimore
12/14 @ Cincinnati
12/21 vs Philadelphia
12/28 @ San Francisco

12/7 @ Baltimore
12/14 @ Cincinnati
12/21 vs Philadelphia
12/28 @ San Francisco
So I'm thinking it looks like

11/23 @ Seattle W
11/30 vs NY Giants L
12/7 @ Baltimore L
12/14 @ Cincinnati W
12/21 vs Philadelphia W
12/28 @ San Francisco W

I'm thinking you could exchange a Baltimore W for a Bengals L, but the Bengals are pretty terrible. And I'm thinking we're better than the Ravens as well. But God knows all our woes, we might end up botching both games, but I hope not. We can't make a wildcard slot at 9-7?

Seattle, Philly, and SF should all be easier games that should most definitely be wins.

I hate to say it but it doesn't look good and to think we were so high just a few weeks ago. This team is as bad as the 7-1 Turner team that end up crumbling. Why can't we have any offense in Washington?

What a sad sad year. =(

Wow, looking at these games I can see the Skins going 0-6 but I dont think that's likely. I'd like the Skins to win Sea & SF if they were home but they are on the west coast and the Skins seem to struggle with trips to the west coast. They wont beat the Giants. Balt wont be easy in Balt. Cinn gave Philly all they could handle in Cinn but it depends which Cinn team shows up. Phil is always a tough game.

4-2 would be an amazing run for this team and they made a run like that last year but those things dont happen often. My prediction is 3-3 or 2-4. I cant believe I'm saying this but the Skins wont make the playoffs.

of course it can be done i think we can even go 6-0 or 5-1 with our talent. But I'm sure we'll choke and go 3-3

I think we most definitely have to take out Philly and then ten wins will look better for the playoffs. If we can handle Seattle, Philly, SF and Baltimore, we're gonna' be doing good.

I'm most nervous about stinkin' ass Baltimore. The way we play against good defenses this year is very discouraging.

It might be too early to get into all the tiebreakers, but the bottom line is that if the Redskins win the four conference games left they would be all but guaranteed the Wild Card. That would give them a 9-3 conference record and 4-2 division record. That would give them the tiebreaker over any non-division opponent for the Wild Card save Atlanta (who could end up with a 9-3 conference record as well). It would also give them the tiebreaker over Philadelphia in division. It would then come down to common games with Atlanta (Detroit, St. Louis, Philadelphia, New Orleans I think) and Dallas (14 games), assuming all finished with the same record. Bottom line, Seattle is a huge game this week and one of the four most important games left (and also why it sucks so much that they lost to St. Louis ... would have rather lost to Cleveland).

Must win 12/7 game against Ravens, if you are a Skins fan living in the B-more area you know waht I mean. This is more important then the playoffs.

I don't think we're getting to 10 wins.

Seattle...Loss. We never play well there and they have Hasselback now. I don't think we'll win this one.
Giants..Loss. They are the best team in the NFL. We have no chance.
Balt....Loss. They might shut us out.
Cinn....Win. But barely. They played Dallas, Giants and Philly REAL tough.
Philly....Win. We should win this one at home.
SF.....Win. We should take care of business. We are the better team

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

No slip ups against teams we should beat (Seattle, Cincinnati, and SF) and it's almost a given.

We're too good to go 0-3 vs. NYG, Balt, and Philadelphia. That's not happening.

I see 5-1, with a loss at Baltimore. Of course, that's assuming Zorn makes the tweaks on offense that gets these guys producing like they are capable of at Seattle, but who knows Seattle better than him?

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

The only game remaining that looks like a total reach is the Giants since they're playing so well. If the offense wakes up, the Skins can certainly get on another roll since the defense keeps them in every game. I honestly wouldn't be shocked by a 5-1 finish. I also wouldn't be shocked by a 2-4 finish since most games seem to come down to the final few minutes.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

The Giants still have a tough physical road game before they have to come here to play us. I'm thinking they won't be playing as well as they are right now in two weeks. Of course, if I'm wrong on this, we won't beat them.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

I just don't know. I was SURE that we would come off the bye hot and ready to roll. Now, I believe that our season depends on the O-Line getting its sh** together and I don't see that happening. I don't see us beating the Ravens, NYG and think we will manage to lose at least one of Seattle, Cinci or SF.

<sigh>

I see us just missing the play-offs at 9-7. Unlike earlier in the year, this O-Line just ain't getting it done.

I could definately see us losing to one of these teams (I think SF goes into Dallas and wins this week), but if we beat Seattle this week, I would say that puts the probability of winning all three of those road games in our favor, wouldn't you?

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

We got into this discussion last week with thread on how this team would most likely get to 11-5 if they were able to reach that record. Now we're projecting differently, as I think most (but not all) who believed we could get to 11-5 had us beating Dallas.

Regardless, my own opinion is that it is virtually impossible to predict a record for the Redskins, because this is truly a one-game-at-a-time team. The fact is that every game they play is close. After 10 games, they've scored 181 points and given up 182. They have proven that they cannot be blown out even if they are outplayed, but also cannot win without a nail-biter of a game. Seriously, given the way this team plays, I don't think a single game remaining on their schedule--even possibly the Giants game--can be guaranteed as a win or a loss.

By the way, if it hasn't already been posted, Yahoo sports is currently running a front page story on the Redskins' recent struggles.
