I hope 106.7's plan is not just to go hire a bunch of disgruntled ex redskin employees. Might as well get Mitchell, Smokin AL, and take Andy Pollin while there at it.

I do not like the morning line-up on 980 so I flat-out listen to the Junkies in the morning and catch 980 from 12-3 and then switch to Lavar. I don't mind the Snyder bashing. I'm done with Andy Polly and Zabe.

How many times can 106.7 say "the fan" in one commercial break?

Re: ESPN980 VS. 106.7 The Fan

Having listened much to the 106.7, so I don't know much about it. I must say that I'm getting sick of the Sports Reporters. I tuned in for a few mins today and they were being horribly negative about the team, and well I feel like they do that all the time. Sometimes I wonder if they go out of their way to be negative since Snyder owns the station. Granted I don't want a station that drinks the kool-aid 24/7, but these guys are pretty much pricks about their negativity.

I actually dont mind 106.7. It is nice to have a place you call actually call into. Also they have some good guests.

Junkies beat Mike and Mike, but I hate LaVar. He isn't too smart on his show either, so evenings I switch to 980. Weekends and nights 1067 is better IMO. Especially if you dont wanna listen to Red Sox games.

I am an out of town fan but stream both when I listen, which is often now that the season is starting up. I hate the 980 morning shows like mike and mike and that heard guy. They often seem like they like to hear themselves speak... the 106.7 show in the morning are not that great either... they seem a little immature for my taste and often seem like a scene from a frat party that no one pledges! After lunch I started to listen to the Lavar show thinking it would suck but the show was pretty good... a little touch of negativity but they talk alot more about the Skins... I could care less about... is there any other sport!!!! They also seem to have there pulse on the local market better... I lived there for years before. I also was able to call in and ask a question!

I like 106.7 fine. It is good to have something that you can change the channel and listen to. The other shows on 980 are fine, but they are becoming a bit stale. This pushes 980 to up the ante and now I have read on another board that Theismann will be doing a show on 980. This probably wouldn't have happened had there not been a competing station in town.

Re: ESPN980 VS. 106.7 The Fan

i listen to mike and mike and the herd coming in to work (about an hour) then the sports reporters coming home (1hr n half).

i am getting real tired of turning on the sports reporters and hearing them sound like a morning disc jockey show with such topics like what memorable places on the eastern shore that are still around, absurd ways your company has tried to save money with the recession, applications to be czabe's caddy, etc.

im going to try 106.7 today but i cant stand lavar for too long. i like the man, still rock his jersey but that doesnt translate into being a good radio sports personality.

Tony K I think is replacing Mike and mike starting in Sept. on 980. As for the fan, I liked it much better as wjfk but its growing on me. Mike wise is a good writer but should not be doing a 4 hour radio show. Chad and lavar are getting better but getting sick of them constantly saying their station is not owned by the redskins.

Lavar's show is also available on iTunes' podcasts. Search for "Lavar Arrington" and you'll get all the shows. Having it in your iPod makes it portable in case you can't listen when it streams.

As for the show, I like it better than I thought I would. Yes Lavar still whines about his Redskin career, blaming everyone and the moon, but I'm still hanging with him.

Haha good point about the junkies I get that vibe too. But they are entertaining.

I disagree with LaVar's show. I hate it. But 106.7 is good because you can actually call in. I have called in numerous time.
