Thats a tough one... I really wouldnt touch that one at all. I have a feeling it will be a close game. I wouldnt be suprised if the line goes down a little.

The gentleman in me will be will be mortified but the fan in me will be highly pleased when the feathers are plucked from the birds in a painful yet delightful manner.

For all you "trend players", here are two trends both of which cannot continue past the Super Bowl this year:
1. Tom Brady is undefeated in playoff games that he starts. 2. Andy Reid is 9-0 in games where he has a bye week. Now assuming that Brady is not run over by a bus and actually starts that game ...

How can you go against the Patriots at this point?
I'm done doubting them, they're just so impressive, they're like a machine. |

i'd take the Eagles and the points, and just about laugh all the way to the bank (after i let out a huge sigh)
The Patriots have won 2 of the last 3 previous Super Bowls by a total of 6 points. Carolina had a stingy defense, and it took a miraculous 3rd Quarter to jumpstart the game. The Eagles don't have a rookie QB...Big Ben took the Steelers right out of the game yesterday...so those mistakes won't be made. both teams have great defenses and offenses that provide results. i just can't see either team winning by more than 3-5 points...

Matty, the only thing going against the Patriots right now is to me it feels like its one of those "due time" type of situations. Like the Patriots should absolutely STOMP the Eagles, but something tells me that because of all the luck the Patriots have had in the playoffs as of late, it might end this year because it's "their time."
I hope not though.

I am with Mattyk72, I am done doubting the Patriots. I am not a Pats fan, but I have the upmost respect for them and I love watching them play. Kinda like the 49ers in the 80s, I wasn't a fan, of course, but I just loved watching Montana-to-Rice.
As of now, the Eagles are too mistake prone to beat them. You have to play perfect ball to beat the Pats. I think the Patriots secondary will take the Eagles WR out of the game, I think they keep Westbrook on tabs. If the Eagles are to have any chance, it's going to be a health Owens, I think he'll be 50-60% at best.

If someone can give me a reason why they dont think New England will win, I'd like to hear it. Theres nothing left to say, they have proven everything they had too. Depleted Secondary shut down Peyton Manning & co. The banged up Defenseive Interior just smacked Jerome Bettis & co. Their offense just dropped 41 on the #1 defense in the league. I'm not saying it cant happen, cause Philly is a good team, no question about it. However, New England isnt just a good team, they are a big game team. They have lost 4 games in 2 years. 3/4 of those games were to losing teams (Redskins(5-11), Bills(6-10) 03', Dolphins(4-12 I think 04'), The Steelers this season being the 4th . Now while some would say that losing to bad teams is a bad thing, which it is, I think it speaks too how well they play against quality opponents. The Patriots are everything you could want a NFL team to be, they will win the Superbowl again, and it wouldnt shock me if they are back there again next season. They are that good.
