The official cut Josh Wilson, move up Chase Minnifield Thread

Most transactions in the NFL are never this easy. What other big shake up moves need to happen this week? Discuss.

Let say we fired MS, and promoted KS only to fire him at the end of the season. Would that work? OL coach needs to go, LB coach needs to go, DC needs to go, QB coach needs to go, WR coach needs to go. This staff is terrible.

I wouldn't cut Wilson, but I would promote Amerson to starter to get him valuable experience. Who cares if he has growing pains when you're sitting at 3-8?

Major shakeups aren't going to do anything but ensure total and complete disaster and make us look like an even bigger joke. We're already crashing and burning as it is. Firing/cutting people doesn't solve anything. At the end of the season go ahead and clean house.

Josh should be cut or put on IR for a broken spirit. He has been beat like a drum for the whole season. Don't believe me, look back at the tape.

I dont know about cut, but inactive would work. Give Minnefield a shot or someone else. Not the end of the world, see what we got before the next regime.

Reports are he couldn't even put a shoe on earlier this week cause he was so badly hurt. I put this more on the coaching staff; get Amerson in there. Wilson was just getting crushed.

Re: The official cut Josh Wilson, move up Chase Minnifield Thread

Davis needs to be cut, he's wasting a roster space and I find it hard to believe there's not one FA TE that couldn't come in and at least block for us. Paul is fucking terrible as well.

Everyone knows I've hated Josh Wilson for years now. I'd rather have a dead guy out there playing than Wilson.

I don't think the coaching staff (outside of Mike, Kyle, Haslett and that ST idiot coach) is the issue. I think we have a terrible O-line save Trent, although he decided to not even show up during the 49ers game.

Some of these guys can't be coached; Robinson is inconsistent at best, Hank can't stay healthy, Paulsen can't catch, Polumbus is a turnstyle, Moss is old, Fletch is old, etc, etc.

A lot of these players just aren't NFL caliber anymore (or weren't to begin with)

Have to make changes, things are not working out. Sitting around doing nothing is like saying, it's ok. It's time to bench people and give others the opportunity, make players accountable.

It doesn't help that Biggers is playing safety. Minnifield is needed. Wilson should be benched. Idk how else but he season isn't salvageable and has long been embarrassing. Evaluate talent for '14

Re: The official cut Josh Wilson, move up Chase Minnifield Thread

Well, the thing is, unless the team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs (and I don't think they are technically eliminated yet) you can't really sit players, because that's like waving the white flag. That's a sure sign that your coaching staff has given up (even though that could be true) you don't want to send that message to the players. However, Wilson being hurt would be a good excuse for allowing Amerson to start the rest of the year, and to bring in Rambo more as well. Once it's official that the Redskins are eliminated, then I see no problem with sitting starters down (especially the ones you want or "hope" are retained) and allowing their backups some game time. Would like to see RGIII not be killed before the season is over with.

Amerson is better than Wilson . I was wondering where he was last night. Was he hurt ? He was a bright spot in the back end for a bit.

The fact that Wilson is still on the field is amazing to me, I had 2 people call me last night and say the same thing

Re: The official cut Josh Wilson, move up Chase Minnifield Thread

Wouldn't be an inexcusable move from a football perspective, but from a locker room perspective, veterans taking the blame for the loss by losing their job before coaches do is poor form.

If Amerson starts at corner next Sunday I wouldn't be shocked.

Minniefield for Wilson would hardly be a big shakeup. Things could even get worse.
