Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

lemar marshall i feel was our defensive mvp. he played good, made the red zone int, and had an overall solid game. i feel like with this game he's proven that we won't have any problems in the middle, and that's why i give it to him. but i also feel cornelius griffin had an excellent game too, with the sack and the force and fumble recovery at the end to seal it for us.

Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

That play by Griffin at the end was a pro-bowl statement type of play. Beat a double team, forced a fumble, recovered it, to seal a tough defensive win. That's what you want out of your leaders.

Whole D played great. Only a fumbled KO really hurt them. Marshall was strong, as was Washington. Liked Taylor as well.

Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

I think alot of Griffin's value is not statistically measured. His gap is more or less not passable by RB's, he draws the double team, and he is the leader of the D-line. He's gotta be the MVP today.

Although I thought Griffin had a tremendous game, I'm leaning toward Marshall. Six solos and the int. really stopped their scoring threat. He was around the ball all day.

Griffin was huge, no doubt. But it looked like we didn't miss Mr. Pierce all that much today. Marshall did an admirable job, coming up with the big pick. Where was Arrington? I expected more out of him but I think he will progress quickly as he gets back into football shape both mentally and physically.

Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

Griffin is ALWAYS an MVP. Still, today I think I'd have to go with washignton, he was flying everywhere and again showed how valuable he is... He couldn't get to orton, which was a bit of a downer (he got a good number of chances), but I can't wait for arrington to join him.

I'm glad our D was able to get at least a couple sacks, though I would have liked 4+, the run D kept them to 2.3 ypc!!! Either way, we got 2 takeaways today, which i something we lacked last year, so thats encouraging. I wasn't that happy with the secondary today... keeping moose to 69 yards is good, but I thought (based on last year) that we'd be a little tighter in coverage.

Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

I'm going with Griff because when we needed someone to step up and make a play, he did just that with his HUGE sack and fumble recovery to seal the deal.

That's what your big stars do, they make plays in crunch time, and it's obvious that last year was no fluke for Griffin.

Arrington was in there and almost got a sack towards the end.

Looks like they're working him back slowly.

Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

I originally voted for the O-Line. I believe that it all starts up front and Portis had a huge day for us. But the more I thought about it I should have voted other. I say other because of the "12th Man". I was not at the game, but watching at home. It sent chills up my spine watching FedEx Field come alive in the 4th Quarter like that. The fans and the fans alone caused 3 different O-Linemen to jump consecitivly offside and then when the bears finally did snap the ball our D was so pumped up the only thing that could have happened did, a sack to force a 4th and 38. That was totally awsome!!!! My thanks to those that were at the game and made that happen!!!!

Sorry I put this on the wrong poll. But either way it was still awsome!!

I say griffin and I can't wait for the vocal leader to step up. we need someone who will know the defense like pierce who can put people in position at that point we'll be really tough to score on

Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

Griffin is the only dominating presence on our D-line, guaranteeing him double-teams. Despite that fact, he still puts himself in position to make plays. His numbers are half the story, and he's my Defensive MVP.

Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

I'm thankful we have Griffin. Without him our D-Line would be butter and the LB would be making tackles after 5 yard gains.

Griffin for me, stopped the run all day and made the play that ensured our victory - came up BIG just when we needed it.

Re: Defensive MVP Bears-Skins

i chose other. i think walt harris was our defensive mvp. 3 passed deflected, 2 tackles. looked very good out there. griffin really only showed up on that last play at the end of the game.
