Look who opens her fat trap
First loss of the year and look who decides to write an article, Miss Negative herself.
I really hate Jenkins. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...100901461.html |

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
Hey Sally, you are really, really ugly. So ugly in fact, I saw your face on the top of that article and clicked out becasue the ugliness was such a bitter, cold does of reality into my happy life.
Whatever. Sally is ugly. I'm not reading her garbage.

i can't believe she still has a job. when we win, it's like she doesn't want to be seen, but she's right there when we lose.

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
I didn't think it was awful. She wasn't completely bashing us, it just sounded that way from the beginning. Her summary was correct, though. We can't have it both ways, we're either gonna be great, or we're gonna almost be great, and I'm sick of being a team that "should be"

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
It's not a bad article, but her negative tone is what annoys me, and the fact her first article of the season follows our first loss is really annoying.

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
she jumps from one extreme to another. retard. i don't even know what she wanted to get across in that article. We played lousy, to we played great on offense. We haven't scored 21 points in 4 games, to the skins put up the most points they have all year and the offense is improving????? stupid bitch

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
heh, if we scored 21 points in a game before week 7, she'd probably write after the game something along the lines of: the redskins haven't even scored 22 points in a game so far.

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
I don't read her because I always get mad when I read her pieces. I don't mind getting it from the national folks--that's not their beat, they've got they're own agenda, whatever. But a local sportswriter who consistently takes a negative tone with the team--it always annoys me. One can (and should!) be objective. But tone is a matter of style and rhetoric, not facts. She works for the biggest paper in DC, a town obsessed with the skins. Why does she always have to carp on the bad? And in that shrill tone? Ugh.
Whatever. I learn more about the skins from waching the games, looking at the press conferences on skins.com, and reading the posts on this message board. Who needs her? Maybe she can follow Nunyo to SI or something.

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
I don't see what's so horrible about the article, guys. I think she's pretty dead-on with her analysis. This was a game that, in many ways, summarized what the Redskins have been all about this season. I think Jenkins capsulated those characteristics pretty well. If you read the entire article-- and not just the headline and first couple paragraphs-- Jenkins actually outlines some very valid reasons for hope.
Of course there are going to be negative points as well-- this was a loss, after all-- but overall, it was a fairly balanced and objective article. Jenkins has written some scathing pieces in the past ( and even those pieces had some valid points, by the way), but this article is certainly not the kind of anti-Redskins diatribe some would make it out to be simply because Jenkins wrote it. I think it's odd that people who are ostensibly very passionate about the Redskins are so quick to ostracize those who vocalize the negative sentiments they themselves undoubtedly feel when things aren't going well for the team. I find it hard to believe that people who feel passionately about the Redskins don't ask themselves some of the same questions Jenkins and others pose about this team. As frustrating and tension-filled as the games have been this season, I'd imagine most of the folks in Redskins nation have found themselves wondering aloud just what in the heck the Redskins are doing sometimes-- in fact, I've seen those very sentiments expressed on this forum and others. So why are we so hyper-sensitive and hypocritical that we have to attack the integrity and even the physical appearance of someone who poses these same questions?

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
My only thing with the article is her timing. With her history of ripping the team a new a-hole, it just strikes me funny that she waits until the first loss to write about the team.

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
I understand your sentiments, Matty, but this was a pretty positive article for ol' Sal. She seems to be taking all the positives from the loss with the grain of salt they deserve. After all, we've got a mark in the starboard column now. We did a lot of things well, but not well enough.

Re: Look who opens her fat trap
Sorry, but I read the article. And there's a difference between analysis and commentary. Her's tends to be commentary with a negative twist.
She ends the article with some, so far they, and we don't know who they are. Are you kidding me? How does she figure the Skins don't know who they are? Perhaps I'm taking her last line out of context a bit or I'm defending my team (obviously not her's) too much. But I think the Skins have a good idea of who they are and what they are capable of as a team. |
