F...avorite Video Games
Just in the spirit of livening things up around here and because TAFKAS and I love the 80s, what are some of your favorite games for each system and why?
NES - Blaster Master. You can't go wrong with a guy that looks like a ghetto spaceman walking around. He also looks like someone you could shift your car with. Super NES - Donkey Kong Country. My fiancee and I play that for an hour a day (yes, I wish we were doing OTHER things) but this game is classic. Genesis - Sonic and Knuckles. Talk about innovative. A game you could plug another game into and create baby games. N64 - No Way Out I spend all my college years playing drinking "No Way Out" with my custom character, "Malcolm Shaft". PS - Jersey Devil. Because I kept my porno DVDs in the case PS2 - SSX3. I know most everyone loves the sports games, but this is another game that I play after I play Donkey Kong Country with the fiancee. It's while I play THIS game, SHE does other things. Xbox - Halo. Not Halo 2, Halo the original. This was the post-college No Way Out when it came to drinking. My custom character was named Vin Diesel. Arcade - Super Mario Bros./Zookeeper I remember playing my first video game and it was Super Mario Bros, the ARCADE game. Way harder than the NES version. Also, Zookeeper is the most addicting LSD-fest game I've ever played.

Re: F...avorite Video Games
Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES single handedly failed me out of college when it came out, well that and beer.
Madden is forever a classic, love the Zelda series on all the Nintendo systems, Metroid especially Prime, still hooked on Resident Evil 4 for the GC, love me some NBA Street, Burnout 3, NCAA Football '06, Goldeneye for the N64 was clutch, going all the way back to NES days gotta go with RBI Baseball, Super Mario Bros., Mike Tyson's Punch Out, I could go on and on all the way back to Pac-Man, Pitfall, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and Pong. Can't forget about Combat either for the Atari. |

Re: F...avorite Video Games
Atari=Night driver and real sports football.
Nintendo=10 yard fight and of course tecmo bowl. Sega (8bit system)=Hang on Gensis=The first Madden and Castlevania Turbo Graphix=There was a football game that I can't remeber the name of, but it was a side scroller that I played for hours on end. Atari Jaguar= I had this system for two weeks, played Troy Aikman football then returned it and bought a SNES. SNES= Mario and Castlevania two. 3DO=Madden of course, what other games was there for it? Dream cast= NFL 2K Play Station= All the Madden's and I think it was called play action football. PS2= Again Madden and Need For Speed. XBOX= ESPN Football 2K5. Boy I miss that game 360=SO far NFS, Full Auto and of course Madden 06. |

Re: F...avorite Video Games
What? No love for the Dreamcast?
I'm just kidding, but I do think the Sonic Adventure games are some of the most underrated games ever made. Since then, all I do is play sports games.

Re: F...avorite Video Games
Tecmo Super Bowl - greatest thing EVER. My personal record for sacks in a season - 96 with Mike Singletary. The Lions were a great team to choose too, you got Barry Sanders on offense and Chris Spielman on defense. The Chiefs were fun too with Derrick Thomas and Christian Okoye (did anyone else take Okoye and purposely run into defenders just to see them go flying like ragdolls?)
Mike Tyson's Punch Out - I can still hear the sounds in my head when you are beating King Hippo's ass: doomdoomdoom, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP, bawGEEP WAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWA BUMBUMBUMBBUMBUM. Dragon Warrior IV for NES - tremendous role playing game. By far my favorite of all Dragon Warriors or Final Fantasies. N64 - MarioKart and 007 were the BEST college games ever. Line up 4 people to either race or hunt each other down. My favorite thing was playing Bond with the setting on license to kill (one hit and you're automatically dead) and 3 college buddies playing with me. Finding a grenade launcher was hilarious because I could hide in practically any corner of the level and bounce the grenade off walls and have it carom around and kill my friends. Sniper rifles were funny too because nobody ever saw it coming, LOL. Every time you die you drink half a beer. SNES - Super Bomberman. This is an obscure one, but it's basically a grid and you run around dropping bombs trying to kill each other. Another great 4 player game for college. Every time you died you drank half a beer.
