Getting in trouble for hating on the Eagles

Because of the way their fans behave at games (including at FedEx), my visceral hatred and reaction to the Eagles has grown well beyond that for the Cowboys (still hate them, but just not as much as the Eagles).

So my 5 year old daughter was asking me about this at dinner last night. She says, "Daddy, do you just not like the Eagles players or the people too?"

I told her that I really didn't like their fans and she wanted to know why. I thought for a minute and came up with an answer I knew she could understand, "Well sweety, one year, at a game right before Christmas, a bunch of Eagles fans at a game beat up Santa."

My wife has come unglued at this answer. Explained it wasn't the real Santa, just someone dressed like him.

She wanted to know what happened to the guys who beat up Santa. I explained that not only did they get coal in their stockings that year, but that they had a special jail at the football stadium because Eagles fans had such bad manners they put them in.

Anyway, my wife is pretty ticked off I have explained the facts of life so effectively to my daughter.

Apparently my mom's step-father used to play for the eagles practice squad back in the late 40's-50's and they were his favorite team, so she gets mad when I trash them. I'm always quick to explain to her that if her step-father were alive today he would hate the current version of that team because of their miserable fickle fanbase.
My grandfather was a classy man, a Lt. Col in the USAF, he would be disgusted with the current iggles.

my friends dad played for the COWBOYS. My friend's grand father played for the steelers. My friend's dad hates the skins. The steelers are his favorite team, i am guessing because of his dad. My friend is a skins fan. So, he went to training camp with me and his dad called to check up on him and he said he was going to the camp and what not. His dad said did you bring a change of clothes and my friend was like, no wtf type of question is that. Then he asked are you wearing your skins stuff? My friend was so he said yes. Then his dad said "you should have brought a change of clothes because you can't walk in wearing that shit into my house".

I haven't met his dad but from what i have heard he is a cool guy just joking around but I would feel it would be hell to live under the same roof as an ex-cowboy.

Things to tell my 3 year-old son to ensure he is a Skins fan:

1. Your mom rooted for Dallas once and that's what killed the dog.

2. If you root for the Eagles, Santa won't visit b/c the Eagles fans beat up Santa.

3. Giants' fans took all the tooth fairy's money.

4. The potty monster is a Skins fan and if you don't root for the Skins he will bite your butt when you poop.

5. If you root for the Skins, you can breast feed till your 10.

6. We only adopted you b/c they said you were a Skins' fan, don't make us give you back.

7. If you root for anyone but the Skins your thingy will fall off.
