Deion Branch trade?
Over at Official Website of the New England Patriots I just read that the team has given Branch permission to seek a trade. Do you think they would take Patten back in exchange?
I don't see the Skins as a player on this but I can guarantee you the Eagles board will be buzzing about this soon.

Heck no. We don't need a guy who holds out every year.

Re: Deion Branch trade?
No way this ever ever ever happens. We don't need anymore WRs; they would never trade their No. 1 for our No. 4; we don't have the cap space; etc.

I agree. not gonna happen. although, the skins are the defacto standard for disgruntled players looking for a bigger payday. you know branch is thinking it

Re: Deion Branch trade?
If I'm the Eagles brass I'm all over Branch like stink on sh!t.
Knowing the Eagles though, they'll sit on their hands and go with what they've got at WR, which isn't much. |

Re: Deion Branch trade?
They do have a way of doing that don't they? I would have to think they are immediate players in this one. I would add the Broncos to that list too.

Re: Deion Branch trade?
Deon Branch is not asking for a lot of money. 6 million a year for an MVP of the Superbowl is hardly alot. The problem with the Patriots front office is they have invested a lot of money in Brady and love to cut corners when it comes to other veteran players ie. McGinness,Branch,Seymour and many others. The Eagles are just like them. So Branch will maybe go to San Francisco who has a ton of cap money. That could be dangerous with Vernon Davis and Antonio Bryant on the opposite side. We don't need any receivers. We need cohesion, chemistry and execution.

as far as value, i'm not sure he's worth $6mill a year... that's reggie wayne money and his stats just aren't very good when compared. santana has better numbers and he's only making $4.5mill a year. I do agree that there's no way we'd even think about this and the pats would laugh at us if we tried to trade patten straight up. branch is obviously a better player, but you can't get every free agent and starters 5 deep at every position... unless you're playing madden. |

Re: Deion Branch trade?
Stay out of the NFC branch it already is full enough, go join someone useless like the browns or texans.

Re: Deion Branch trade?
Deion is still under contract to the Pats, so it would be very hard for him to get a big contract from another team it's not like he is a unrestricted FA.
