Just as bad as the Adam Archuleta deal.

Wow. That's a lot for a guy who got benched and beat out by Sean Considine.

You have got to be kidding me? Let it go. Just let the fact that we did pretty damn bad last year in free agency wash over you and fade away.

He can't play. He's just as bad as Archuleta, maybe worse.

Re: 49ers Sign SS M.Lewis

Michael Lewis is very similar to Adam Archuletta. Both can play the run really well and deliver "highlight reel hits". Both can cover 270 lb tight ends because those guys can't run. Neither one can cover a slot receiver or a WR on a bet.

Archuletta was way overpaid with his signing bonus and the rest of his deal. Part of his downfall was that his partner in the secondary is just like him; neither one can cover well.

If Lewis gets paired with a safety who has coverage skills, Lewis can be a good player. If he gets paired with another "big hitter" with marginal coverage skills, Lewis will stink like a 10 day old bloated hippo carcass out in the sun on the African veldt.

Re: 49ers Sign SS M.Lewis

Yeah this isn't anywhere near the Archuleta deal IMO. Lewis got benched because the corners around him were hurt and Reid was making a statement about the pass defense. He is weak in coverage I admit, so we'll basically use a "big nickel" package where he's closer to the LOS and will hit people.

Overpaid for? Maybe. We should still have something like 20 million in cap room, so excuse me if I'm not upset if the FO isn't pinching pennies.

Re: 49ers Sign SS M.Lewis

listen i would rather had kept clark but he wasnt a big enough name for the skins. So yes i'm still piss about AA deal it a killer deal for the team. Still i would take lewis over AA.

I think both of them can still play if put in the right situation. They are very similar type players. Michael Lewis would have been just as bad if he were on the Redskins last year.
