Wow Danny boy actually said he mabe some mistakes in the past!!! Thing's are looking alot brighter boys!! Reading that was a breath of fresh air!!
I just hope it's not a bunch of lip service.. Time will tell. But at least Danny boy is trying!

I heard that whole interview on AM-980 and The Danny was very soft spoken. I was surprised myself. He sounded so relaxed and happy. Just goes to show how much of an effect Joe Gibbs has had on the organization as a whole.

I think the media has painted this picture that Snyder is a prick. He's made mistakes, but he recognizes them and it has made him a better owner/person.

Time will tell, but I'm glad that the Danny has at least begun to admit that he's made mistakes. Not that he's saying anything that the whole world didn't already know, but he's owning up to some of his mistakes and I'm sure that he'll be there to accept the praise when we start winning too.

Dan Snyder was the archetypical impatient rich kid if there ever was one. throwing money at problems, thinking big names is what it took. but wasnt he the youngest owner ever? i always just equated him to a rookie player. a rookie owner.

what was never in question was his dedication, and his checkbook and for that i could never dislike him. he WASNT a Jerry Jones (who is a fossil, whats his excuse?) or an Al Davis. he wasnt on sidelines every game imposing himself on the team or the fans. he was just young, rich and proud.

well after 5 years, he's been sufficiently humbled i'd say. going and paying for the Jets players instead of the big names and getting Gibbs and rightly backing off is the proof. took him a while, but i think he's learned and will continue to learn under (yes, i said UNDER) Gibbs. :thumb:

I think it's progress that he's actually speaking to the media! He may be, as saden1 intimated, simply marketing himself to a once-mutinous fanbase that he suspects could now be in a somewhat forgiving mood ("after all, he did bring Gibbs home, didn't he?"), but at least he's making an effort now to portray himself as a rational, thoughtful and conciliatory human being. That's a lot more than can be said for his public relations skills over the past few years.

I truly hope that Gibbs' unique charisma-- defined by graciousness, humility, and earnestness-- begins to rub off on Dan Snyder, and that Snyder has indeed learned from his past mistakes. If Snyder is willing to concede his own faults and errors, which he seems to be doing (for the moment, at least), and respect the lessons that can be learned from a masterful leader like Joe Gibbs, then there is hope for this franchise-- even beyond this second Gibbs era.

The one thing I can always respect about Snyder is however dumb his moves may seem, he always has the team's best interest in mind, the guy just wants to win so badly.

I never really understood why the same people who complain about Snyder meddling too much also complain about his self-imposed rule of not talking to the media during the season.

As for the article, it seems to give the false impression that he suddenly had an epiphany this spring that he's made mistakes, something he apparently never realized before.

Yet, check out this quote from an article on Snyder in the Washington Post in September of 2002

For those folks who say that Danny Boy is merely young and impetuous, might I remind you that he is 40 years old. One might not have to possess the wisdom of Solomon at 40, but controling your temper and preventing yourself from lashing out at underlings is something that the vast majority of successful and well-adjusted 40-year-olds have mastered.

To those who say that Danny Boy has changed because he has seen the light since Joe Gibbs returned to town, let me remind you that the only instant conversion of an adult that had a lasting effect happened on the road to Damascus and was accompanied by a blinding flash of light. Joe Gibbs is one hell of a football coach but even he will not claim that kind of power.

Before anyone asks me why I hate Danny Boy - as has happened here several times in the past - let me say once again that I do not hate Danny Boy. I reserve hate for people who do really monstrously odious things. I hate child molestors; I hate people like Adolf Hitler; you get the idea. Danny Boy has never done anything in his life that has even brought him close to "hateful". Nothing that he has done in his lifetime is worth the effort for me to hate him.
