Who should start in Washington's place
Well we have a dilemma. Marcus Washington will probably miss the opener and maybe a couple of games after that. Who do you all think should start in his place? I would like to see H.B. Blades. The guy flys to the ball.

Ahh..there we go, I was wondering...
As far as Washington, he'll be in the lineup on opening day. Where are you get this from? |

Who is saying he's going to miss any games? I've heard he's going to be ready to go...and if he misses any at all, it will at most be the first game.

I'm not sure MW won't play, but I would feel more comfortable with Godfrey filling in. There is still a boatload of situations that Blades has not seen. That applies to Mcintosh as well. I would specifically be concerned with the way they play zone defense against the pass. The whole back seven needs to tighten up in that area.

Re: Who should start in Washington's place
I haven't read anything that would indicate he will miss week 1. In fact, he was practicing last week after the elbow was out of the sling.
I think he suits up and plays with Godfrey spelling him as necessary.

Re: Who should start in Washington's place
On redskins.com during the presser it sounded as if Joe was saying he wasn't going to play. I could be wrong though.

I'm pretty sure this is the exact reason we got Godfrey.
I think MW will be back for week 1 anyway. |

Knowing G. Williams, I think he will rotate Blades, Godfrey and Washington anyway.

Re: Who should start in Washington's place
This is straight from Rotowire:
He will miss Washington's final exhibition game Thursday, but is still expected to be ready for the opener September 9. So let's not be so eager to get him off the field for an unproven rookie. The whole point of blades is so he can sit on the bench and watch our LB's. Not be thrusted into the lineup on week one. We need Washington in the lineup.

Has Blades played the outside at all?
I haven't seen him there, just at MLB, which is his natural position. |

Re: Who should start in Washington's place
I think the coaching staff would go w/ the veteran Godfrey. Plus, HB is much better playing MLB.

Re: Who should start in Washington's place
Seriously this is the time of the year we get a whole bunch of annoying people that come on here and post dumb stuff. Why would you ever say Washington is out unless you had a formal source for that information? I don’t post much but I come to this every day for the past two to three years. It just makes me mad when people say shit they don’t know!
