Great article that really underscores why Monk should be (and, finally, is) in the Hall.

One error, though:

Now the three constants of every Washington championship -- Gibbs, Green and Monk -- will have busts in Canton. They switched running backs, from Riggo to Earnest Byner to Gerald Riggs and George Rogers. They changed quarterbacks three times. Other than Grimm, Jeff Bostic and Joe Jacoby, they changed the line.

Obviously, Green wasn't on the team in 1982 season. I tried to leave a comment, but I couldn't get in.

I was listening to Monk's interview on John Riggins today and he revealed for the first time that if he had not got in this year he was going to send a letter to the HOF committee askng to be removed from consideration as he was getting tired of the drama and build-up every year.

Thinking back it's really hard to believe he got shut out for this long. I can't wait to see him go in!

I really think the modern day comparison to Marvin Harrison is accurate. Both guys just shut up and get it done and I hate the TO's and Chad Johnsons of this era who have corrupted the game to the point where its a freak show. I don't think ppl should be uptight about a little showmanship but its the "me first" attitude that really gets to me. It's not joe gibbs football...it's not redskins football. Another reason why i don't wanna break the bank for Chad.
