The Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

The DCPSR Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down are not meant to be Players of the Game, we will award them in a bit. They are players that we felt stood out in one way or another.

THE THUMBS UP:

DT Lorenzo Alexander

Oh yeah, I meant to lay the smack down on Moss as well. Thanks for reminding me.

I was very happy with Alexander today. We may need him next week big time. I'm worried about Golston and Montgomery playing at this point.

Clinton Portis - 143 yds. The dude is a warrior. He was hurt hard in the first half and then came back to give the team the drive to win this game.

Now Zorn has to worry about taking CP out for even one play...........

We kicked it around, especially give his dedication playing hurt. Portis will get my vote for Player of the Game, but Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down are meant to be a bit different. Didi Portis not run with absolute authority today!

Thumbs down was even tougher because we could have nominated Shuisham, missing a 43 yarder and some pretty lame kickoffs today, not hsi best day. Could have easily tiven it to kick off coverage as well, they were awful. But, we only give two per week.

Re: The Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

Betts is a first class goat. This is the 3rd time that I can remember where he put the ball down towards the end of the game.

Clinton gets the thumbs up. Make that two thumbs up.

Ditto and ditto. Betts wasn't all in all bad but he now gets a career achievement thumbs down for laying the ball down AGAIN with a game on the line. I think he needs to get shut down come 4th quarter from now on. Ol' crisco fingers Ladell.

Dude. That hurts.

Seriously, how the f can a guy fumble is these critical situations. Cover the damn ball w/ both arms!!! I want to like Betts but if he is a liability in close games, on a team that only plays close games...

Reminded all too well of some of the Rock Cartwright goal line fumbles.

Re: The Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

Up: Secondary - played well overall with the exception of one drive, and had two nice looking INTs. They continue to be the strength of the defense.

Down: The refs - for erasing the holding penalty from the rule book for the home team. My goodness. I'm not sure I've ever seen so many missed holding calls in one game my entire life. And I'm not really one to complain about officiating.

Thumbs up for Chris Horton! A draft pick that actually sees the field on a consistent basis! Also Shawn Springs for coming up with the big play when we needed it!

Re: The Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

Sellers was good today, both in blocking and with the ball. Nice to see big Mike involved. But he did drop that third down throw!
