Gtripp, what criteria does a player have to meet to be credited with a tackle in your stats?

The "Tackle" in my stats is given on running plays only (no QB scrambles) to either:

1) the player that makes the tackle

or

2) the first player who had an unobstructed opportunity to make a tackle after the line of scrimmage. (if the first unobstructed tackle is missed, that player is 'credited' with all of the yards gained, and the person who makes the tackle further downfield is not penalized).

With up to two players being credited with the tackle if they get there at the same time.

GTripp,

Do you do a qb success rate for his pass attempts? Can you subtract out drops where the pass would have been a success if the receiver had made a play on a catchable pass or is that to subjective?

Thanks again for the analysis

I don't mark down the drops, but it's an official NFL stat. I have no idea where one would find it though. I could probably rumage through my notes when I create all sorts weird studies in the offseason.

But yeah, I can get a QB success rate with the data I have. I'll see what I can do.
