So, let's discuss Anthony Aldridge, our newest signed player
another small scatback type, was on Denver's roster last year but tore a ligament in his foot before the season started, went to college of U of Houston
looks like we're bringing in a few guys to compete for the returner spot and possibly a change of pace back if that works out we claimed him off of waivers, the vikes also were looking to get him but we got him because we had the lower record last year measurables: 5.9" 175 4.38 40 yd dash out of college, not sure what he'd be at now, after the foot injury and all draft profile from last year: SI.com - 2008 NFL Draft - Anthony Alridge apparently not good after contact (to be expected) but is shifty and elusive and can also play slot receiver Broncos release Shaw, sign former CU player : Broncos : The Rocky Mountain News Looks like we're trying to find our Sproles in the rough or at least a Rock/ARE return replacement. Sorry if it seems like I'm hyping him up, don't get too excited yet guys. |

i say either him or the other guy from the CFL league make the roster. Thats how bad we need a change of pace back and a guy that can take it to the house at any moment other than tana.

I can see Aldridge taking a screen or a short pass and turning it into 6 for us. The more I watch him, the faster he looks. I could see him being a threat in our offense. He's got some moves. A little space and he's GONE!

Every time we get a player like this, I think why would they let him go if he was any good. Then I think of players like Chris Clemons, Antonio Pierce and Ryan Clark and think sometimes teams make mistakes. Then I realize, I cant think of any non Redskins like that and get depressed again.

I did read the Vikes liked him, but we're in the middle of the road as far as the waiver order, so several teams passed on him as well.
His YouTube highlights are fun to watch, but he's basically a rookie having not played a down in the NFL, and he's coming off a serious foot injury. I would thrilled if he pans out, but I'm on "wait and see" mode with guys like this. I'm not having pipe dreams of Darren Sproles part 2.
