Pro personnel boss relieved of duties
Long been rumored to return to the Redskins. Will it happen now?

Good personnel man, would love to see it happen. He could be of valuable assistance to Bruce Allen who by his own admission in not a great talent evaluator. That's providing he could develop the kind of relationship necessary to work with both Allen and Shanahan.

Re: Bears Fire Bobby DePaul
Why was he fired? Did he ask Angelo for a $1 raise? Maybe asking for heat during the winter led to his dismissal.

Re: Bears Fire Bobby DePaul
Can anyone point to a half-dozen great pro personnel decisions that he made with the Bears in the last several years? My sense is that most of their personnel moves have been less than fully productive.
Just asking...

Re: Bears Fire Bobby DePaul
Wouldn't mind seeing him step in the offices here; I remember a couple of years ago there were rumblings that he might replace Vinny and Angelo being pissed about our pursuit of Briggs around that time. I don't know what all he's done in chi-town to help but he was operating limited there.

That's what I am afraid of. The Bears have not made a lot of moves in the past several years that have amounted to more than a pinch of pigeon poop. What did they give up for Cutler? Two firsts and a second plus Kyle Orton? OUCH! The Skins do not need to make any deals of that kind.

Re: Bears Fire Bobby DePaul
DePaul did a good job finding some good deals on free agent OL-John Tait, Ruben Brown, other guys whose names I can't remember. Otherwise, I'm not sure he's necessarily better than who we have now.

Re: Bears Fire Bobby DePaul
I like the idea of bringing him here this article speaks about the things that he did in Chicago and honestly he made great decisions as the PRO personnel manager. He brought quality vet and orchistrated good deals for Chi-town. He was not the director of college scouting who is the one that should of been fired. He's just a scape goat to save Jerry Angelo.

Re: Bears Fire Bobby DePaul
Allen and Shanahan need some help in the personnel dept, but i dont think this guy will bring anything better than what we already have in-house. I think Morocco Brown has more positives on his resume than this guy. No thanks.

You gloss over the Bears signing of Orlando Pace on the OL when Pace was clearly finished. You gloss over the lack of WRs that the Bears have - and when they had a decent one in Bernard Berrian, they let him go to a division rival. If he made "great decisions as the PRO personnel manager" how did a Super Bowl team deteriorate so quickly? Maybe this guy is really good at what he does. But I'd like some concrete examples instead of just assertions that he is better than who is here at the moment. If he really is an upgrade, send a limo to pick him up. If he is "just a guy"...
