Steelers Saturday

Since our first game wasn't what we were expecting. Where should we be as a team getting ready for the Super Bowl Champs.

1.Our starting defense will step on the field as a whole. What do you need to see as a fan that will give you some comfort from last weeks poor outing?

2.Our QB's, what improvements due you feel need to be shown? Steelers D-fense won't be taking any plays off.

3.The run game what questions due you need answered? Are we going to hit in the mouth or are we going to hear the word soft come up again, I'm talking our O-Line and our Backs.

4.Receivering corp. (WR's,TE's and whoever gets the ball thrown to them)will we stretch the field and can we hang on to the ball what do u want to see out there?

All Im saying is what do you want to see out there. My questions are vague not very direct take for what you will. I'm just tired of Brett Favre, Mike Vick, Jessica Simpson, I can get peoples opinion about that on Fanhouse. I want to here from Redskin nation.

Re: Steelers Saturday

Offense has to show signs of being able to hold their own vs a top defensive squad. Last week was horrible as a whole.

Re: Steelers Saturday

It would be nice to see the running game put the Steal-ers on their heels.

I want to see our young receivers significantly contribute. A really big play or two would not hurt.

I would like to see our linebackers step it up in coverage and not appear so lost on pass plays.

I would like to see Rak pound Big Ben like a wrecking ball.

Re: Steelers Saturday

if pittsburgh has it's starting defense in they will manhandle our offense just like they did last year. i'd like to see our defense do the same to their offense.

Re: Steelers Saturday

I just want to see if they can perform better than last year. That means....
Good pickup of blitzes by the OL.
Winning the 1-on-1 battles on both sides of the line.
Better run blocking.

I want to see Big Al in action on D. Orakpo was good last week. Let's see how monstrous duo can really be.

Re: Steelers Saturday

I want to see how certain guys who really struggled last week respond this week (Davis, Tryon, and Barnes to be specific)

I want to see our kickers attempt some field goals

I want to see how Portis looks, even if only for a couple of carries

I want to see Colt try to stay in the pocket just a little bit longer before taking off

I want to pay a little more attention to what our linebackers are doing (or aren't doing)

I want to see if this Smoot at Free Safety experiment has any shot

And, of course...Chase Daniel

So if im getting this right. You want our O-Line to toss them around like ragdolls and our Backs to leave tread marks on them.

1.Our starting defense will step on the field as a whole. What do you need to see as a fan that will give you some comfort from last weeks poor outing?

As far as starting, not a lot.. I expect DL to pickup with the addition of Haynesworth playing a bit, would like to see something good come out of the CB unit; is Rogers playing?

2.Our QB's, what improvements due you feel need to be shown? Steelers D-fense won't be taking any plays off.

Consistency is key; make those key 2nd and 3rd read passes.. not look at option one then option four in the flat

3.The run game what questions due you need answered? Are we going to hit in the mouth or are we going to hear the word soft come up again, I'm talking our O-Line and our Backs.

RBs hitting holes.. and the OL making them

4.Receivering corp. (WR's,TE's and whoever gets the ball thrown to them)will we stretch the field and can we hang on to the ball what do u want to see out there?

proper routes, ball control, more stretch the field plays

Re: Steelers Saturday

I would like to see better performance from everyone than 1st game..

I want to see a little bit more of 1st offense group.. Also, I want to see more of Thomas and Kelly, along with 1st offense group..

I want to see what the coaches did at 1st game, test players individually.. To see what their weakness and strengths are..

Re: Steelers Saturday

I'm afraid for us to play the 1st team offense. It might end up a lot like last years regular season Monday night game... I was drunk and the game was over in 1st half.

Re: Steelers Saturday

aside from all the good posts above, I want to see the game over, everyone healthy, 1 week closer to the regular season.

I also would say, even I want to see all that, I expect to see more of the coaches evaluating individual players. Putting our 2nd's against their 1st's to see if they can man up. Leaving corners isolated, and putting safeties in positions for ints or other risk moves, to see if they can trust them. I expect to see our OLine forced to play above their heads to see if they sink or swim.

finally, I expect to be a little discouraged, because as a fan I want to see us brute force them and beat them point for point, but I don't think that is how the coaches are coming in to the game, they want to evaluate evaluate evaluate.
The first exam is still 25 days away. <sigh>

Re: Steelers Saturday

Im going to state what I stated last week b4 our first preseason game...I dont care about the Defense, or Special teams, I just want to see the Offense execute. Bottom line want to see a couple good drives that result in scores with all parts contributing Line, QB, RB and Receivers...anything less than that will be disappointing.
