Was T.O.'s Skit "that bad"?

Pardon me if this was discussed elsewhere, but what the hell is going on in this "free" country? The skit is nothing you don't see on daytime TV and was a joke. It's not something you're gonna see every week. Bad taste? Perhaps, but an FCC offense? They need to fine all soaps then. If that happened all hell would break loose.

I was wondering if anyone was going to bring this up. I agree with you redrock. I don't think it was that bad. I guess the argument is that MNF is on at 6pm in the West Coast and some impressionable kids could get the wrong impression. "Daddy why is TO going with that naked woman, isn't he playing football today?" But is a kid really going to think that? I don't have any kids but I think the FCC and others don't give children enough credit. I mean on Dora the Explorer, Dora has a magical, flying backpack that speaks. But my 4-year old cousin isn't wondering why her Dora backpack isn't flying through the room talking to her.

And I find it amusing that they've shown the skit over and over again all day long on news programs. It's like "this is wrong, look at this, this is wrong, you shouldn't be watching this, watch this" I don't think Desperate Housewives needed a boost in its ratings but I'm sure it will get one now

The whole thing is stupid I mean come on, they air tons of Viagra ads and people get mad over that little skit?

Some people are just using it to try to push through their extreme-conservative/fundie agenda....like they did with the Janet Jacksin thing

Agreed... there are way more important fish to fry than TO and a housewife. Hey, Owens wasn't that bad at his lines... well, then again, look at his scene partner!

How about the beer ads with scantily dressed women, or the constant closeups of the cheerleaders during the game?? How is that acceptable and this wasn't?

I didn't think what happened was a big deal at all.

My problem with the bit was that it wasn't funny and it wasn't "shocking". It was kinda silly.

Here's the question that I want to see answered - but hell will freeze over before it is:

Here is this nominally naked woman jumping onto a man with her legs around him while he ought to be wearing a cup - he's about to go play Monday Night Football would you go and play NFL football without a cup? That has to huit, no?

I guess this is "fallout" - so to speak - from Janet Jackson

I'm just looking forward to TO's next touchdown celebration. Wonder if it will involve a hot tub and a naked woman

I think that anyone wasting there energy to fight this is a joke! There are real problems out there to address are youth. Like STD's and Drug's! Move on to somthing that matters! Get over it. It was funny maybe a little tasteless, but I thought it was funny.
I'm in California and I wasn't really worried about all the kid's up watching.
We as Americans are prudes! Look at what they watch on the "telly" in Europe and Australia. It's a joke!
Move on to somthing that matters!

Now the FCC wants to fine ABC something like $30,000. If they do then they have to fine all the creators of the soap commercials...plenty of naked backs there. I remember there was also a commercial on not to long ago about some womens' shower hair product. The woman was in a court room and all of a sudden she's moaning and moaning and the people around her were looking at her like, whoa! Then they cut to a shower scene about the hair product. Can't remember what it was called but they basically portrayed a woman finding the same pleasure in the hair product as she would getting her self off if you know what I mean.

This commercial was on at all times of the day...If they fine ABC they are opening a big can of worms.

I heard a quote on a radio show this morning...It was "...stop turning your beliefs into my laws."

I think recently we as a nation are beginning to forget about freedom of speech and freedom of choice.

Theres kids dying all over the world with regards to war, disease , hunger, everything, but this is what people want to worry about. Its freaking rediculous, it wasent even bad. If you break down every single thing you put on TV like they are breaking this down detail for detail, Barney would be freaking offensive to half the country.

To you parents out there, what's going to cause more questions in your house? T.O. and the towel lady or the Cialis commercial that says 'if your erection lasts for more than four hours seeks medical attention'? Maybe if the drug companies weren't in bed with the governement then the FCC would focus on that instead of wasting time on a naked back.
