Today's signings
What do you guys think about the three veterans and that rookie quarterback who signed today? Gibbs mentioned something about the rookie QB taking the place of Tim. I thought that was an interesting statement, considering either Brunell or Campbell would be taking Hasselbeck's spot. Maybe he meant in the near future (like '06 or '07.)
Also sounds like we're trying to load up on running backs and H-backs, but most importantly special teams. Thoughts?

Sounds like special teams moves and an extra camp body at QB

Re: Today's signings
Some of these signing has me wondering at first, but if you look at it, it seems that Gibbs wants the special teams to be strong.

Mean nothing to me. Why even sign a qb. Know he is going to get cut.

Re: Today's signings
You've got it right, Matty. Lots of these signings (and the draftees, except Rogers and Campbell) are going nto have a chance on specials. As for the QB, they probably need that many for drills or somthing. It's purely a practice move.

Re: Today's signings
As a University of Richmond alum, it's nice for me to see Spinner get picked up by the Redskins, even if he doesn't have a chance in hell of making the team. I was ecstatic when we drafted Shawn Barber, I was a freshman at Richmond during his senior year. That was cool.
Coming from a small school like that, even having your QB signed to be a ball-boy in training camp is big news. |
