Broncos and Chiefs on the Road
Is anyone else frightened by the prospect of playing these two teams on the road back to back? I think winning the Broncos game is key because the Chiefs have owned us since Gibbs left and are going to be coming off a bye week. I sure hope we aren't 3-2 when it's all said and done. I'm also hoping we get Arrington on the field so that Gonzales won't as active as he usually is. If we beat the Broncos (they spanked KC) we should be in good shape for KC.

Re: Broncos and Chiefs on the Road
If we get no pressure on plummer, it'll be a long day. Broncos D-line is also going to be much superior to Seattle's, so we won't be as good on offense as we were last week.
I just hope we can steal one of the next two. Then we're in decent shape. The way Kansas City's defense is playing, I like our chances better in KC than in Denver, but you never know in the NFL - in two weeks they could be a different team, and so could we. |

How's their secondary? Champ DOES get burned a lot. We actually have a passing game now, so I'm feeling hopeful.

This is a big test for the team! I'm hoping for 5 and 0 but I'll settle for 4 and 1.

Re: Broncos and Chiefs on the Road
I think a split on this swing would be a positive. At 4-1 we'd have beaten at least 3 teams with the "playoff contender" label attached to them. The key is to simply play one at a time. I honestly don't think there is a team in the league that we cannot realistically beat. Maybe I'd put a healthy Patriots in that category but they aren't healthy. I also might put the Colts in there but luckily we don't get them. When I say realistically I am saying we wouldn't have to play lightsout and have them stink the joint up to have a chance. I think if we play solid we can beat anyone. Consistency consistency consistency.

Re: Broncos and Chiefs on the Road
We should do cartwheels at 4-1! We will be extremely fortunate to win either one of these games. Denver & KC are brutal road assignments for the best of teams. Before the season any one of us would have signed for 3-2 after 5 games, so as long as they have a good showing the next 2 weeks I will not panic.

Basically the D needs to force some turnovers on Denver.

Champ will almost certainly play this one despite his injury, and we must, I repeat, MUST test him by throwing in his direction early and often, because he's overrated. Remember what Marvin Lewis and the Bengals did to him last year? |
