Thoughts on Skins vs Titans
Well, what can I say?? This is not exactly a pretty game especially on O side..
- Jason Campbell: He looked good, but not great as we were hyped for him to be.. He threw some good throws and threw some bad throws too.. But he's getting smarter, I could tell.. - Mark Brunell: He looked horrible, no positive thing he did on field.. I mean he even laughed at sidelines after coming in from horrible series.. I think this man should be cut from Skins and give Jordan Palmer a chance to play.. - Todd Collins: Even though it was only one series but I am impressed by him.. He was perfect, offense moved pretty well which ended up a td by Marcus Mason.. I admit, I was one of those guys who wanted Skins to cut Collins but after this game and if he continues to do thr the preseason then I say we keep him and cut MB.. - Marcus Mason: He looks pretty good, I hope he makes it on team but this wld cause some plm since we are over-crowded with RBs.. Cut Blaylock and Brown.. - Defense: I am really happy with our D-line against the run.. I really am.. London Fletcher look pretty good.. LaRon Landry did good too.. BUT I am little bit worried about our secondary, granted they were just 2nd and 3rd stringers.. But still.. They still gave WRs plenty of cushions. Even tho this game is ugly cuz of O game, I am still happy we won the game ![]() |

Your thoughts after Preseason Game One...
Rough night for Jason Campbell. I thought he played ok. Made a few good throws, some not so good throws. He needs to learn to hold onto the ball when he gets hit. He did show that he's not locking in on one receiver, and that's a big plus. Also shown that he has great athleticism to escape and scramble. Our pass protection wasn't there tonight. Maybe the absence of Chris Samuels is a big difference?
The defense? Looks like they have improved big time! London Fletcher....the guy is a beast!!! Awesome pick up for us! Landry had some nice hits tonight as well. Mark Brunell was uninspiring, but what about Todd Collins coming in and going 5 for 5 and to lead our offense to their only score of the night? Of course, against 3rd stringers! All in all, glad we won the game, but hope we see more from our starting offense. I'm satisfied with our starting defense.

Re: Your thoughts after Preseason Game One...
we need a pass rush. london played well so did rocky. Montgomery made afew plays. Brunell stinks and i'm being kind. Still a long way from being a playoff team.

Re: Your thoughts after Preseason Game One...
Well, who cares about Brunell? He's not the starter anyway. I am more concerned with Jason Campbell and hope he can be our leader this year. I thought he made some good throws, but would've been a little more happier if he could've lead us to a TD drive, but anyway, the defense was pretty solid. I'm excited about London and Rocky! Hope to see more from Fred Smoot.

AS a former, you have one job: Catch the Frickin Ball!!! Not only did he get two hands on it, but he brought it into his chest only to lose it. It could have even been a fumble. That very well could have been a 3 and long in a SEASON game, where it counts mind you, that we needed, and the only outcomes that I saw were a dropped pass and a potential fumble. Think about that!

It looked like JC may have had Cooley deeper on that route, but I think he checked down to ARE because he was under such intense pressure and couldn't have thrown a better deep ball to Cooley. Throwing it away Brunell style may have been the best option. |

I am just glad that our D, no matter if it was 1st string or 3rd string, did not give up a TD...

Re: Your thoughts after Preseason Game One...
I think we can fix our pass protection, but it is important that we have a healthy Clinton Portis playing for us this year!
