Re: The Face of Stupidity
You know, there's something to be said for saying "I don't know" even when you should know. It's amazing that this guy has an audience. What an imbecile.

Re: The Face of Stupidity
Wow. I felt so embarrassed for that guy I was almost squirming. What a moron. Just say "I don't know."
I wonder if Chris Matthews had some prior beef with this guy, because he totally shamed him.

Re: The Face of Stupidity
Ugh -- that's why I hate political talk shows. That guy is a yeller. I hate yellers, and from the little I've heard Hannity, whenever someone makes a valid point that doesn't suit his ideas, he hits the hang up button.
But go Chris Matthews. This country needs some diplomacy.. or is that appeasement?

It's well know that Christ Matthews is a first class dumblebee, he does however have his moments. Jon owned him in that clip.

Re: The Face of Stupidity
I think that anyone who gets thrashed by the likes of Chris Matthews like that should look for different work. It's a little unfair because Matthews has been bested at times on that show but he has the luxury of going to commercial when things get sticky. Christopher Hitchens was a regular guest on that show for years, but when he started pointing out certain inconvenient truths that didn't jive with the Matthew agenda, no more Hitchens. At least Chris has the guts to put people who disagree with him on the air. Olbermann never does. It's the same guys all the time. Richard Wolfe, Jonathon Alter, Howard Fineman, even convicted felon John Dean is welcome because he always tows the line.
But, no denying this guy is an idiot. As for Jon Stewart, he himself got schooled by Jonah Goldberg back around February. The interview had about six edits and Stewart still couldn't land a punch. Goldberg said the six minute on-air segment lasted 18 minutes in the studio. In fairness, this was during the writers strike and it was obvious that Stewart relies on them as his "readers" as well. He was visibly angry that he was not able to make Golberg look bad. Don't look for that episode in re-runs anytime soon.

Oh do I count the ways...terror alert, cronyism, airport security, you're with us or against us, telecom immunity, domestic spying, denial of habeas corpus, secrecy on steroids, torture and foreign prison camps. Goldberg can't measure up to a pinkie finger, a useless appendage by all accounts. Liberal socialism I could understand, but liberal fascism? That's Mussolini territory.
