The Official Cut Durant Brooks Thread

I don't think anything else needs to be said. Another horrible game from him that directly led to our loss today. Unacceptable.

I agree he was miserable, yes he needs to go and yes he did contribute to the loss but the turnovers and dumb mistakes didnt help, this was an offensive team loss today, other than the big play at the end the d played pretty solid again.

He was not a direct cause but a contributor. I think at a minimum getting some competition this week is a given...

His 20-some yard punt out of our own endzone put them in field goal position automatically. Check the final score, he directly led to a loss just as much as Pete Kendall did.

If they're going to cut him, ordinarily I would say 'fine, who will we find to replace him?'

But at this point, anyone else would better than Brooks. So much for that Ray Guy award.

The loss obviously isn't totally on him, but this was a classic field position game. The field goal by Brown to make it 16-7 was your killer -- that was set up by his 26 yarder out of the endzone.

What do you mean by that? We've been suffering from Brooks' punting since preseason.

Not ready to do so yet, he had a good hold on a bad snap for the field goal to get us within 6.

Look, I was his biggest supporter originally. I thought he would overcome his preseason jitters and just YouTubeing his 70 yard punt in college was enough for me. But come on, this is the NFL. An average punter with consistency would be better than him.

Frost was better, he was always consistent and never shanked any punts....(Sarcasm)

This kid's a rookie, if he doesn't improve towards the later part of the season, get another punter for next year. For better or worse, he's our punter this year.

I guess I should clarify that was sarcasm.

Re: The Official Cut Durant Brooks Thread

You guys yelling to cut the punter will be the same ones screaming that the FO is stupid when they let him go and he goes on to be a solid punter somewhere else.

Brooks all of a sudden didn't turn into a crappy punter because he's struggled the first few games of the season. Give the kid a little time. If we're relying on a PUNTER to get us out of bad field position several times AGAINST THE SCRAMS then we've got a lot of bigger concerns.

Re: The Official Cut Durant Brooks Thread

The only problem I have with Brooks right now is that he can't contain his nerves. He has the ability to kill the ball, but he is just letting the pressure really really get to him. Whatever coaching techniques they are using right now are not working.
