Redskins vs. Ravens pre-game thread

Alright time to move on from the insanity of the QB controversy talk and get back to the games. Still 4 games to go and the Skins aren't dead yet.

Discuss the upcoming game here, make your predictions, etc.

Re: Redskins vs. Ravens pre-game thread

All I want is a 1 point lead when the gun goes off. No, that is not Plax's gun but the Ref's ending the game. Zorn just needs to find a way to beat the rush and make them pay for stacking the box then we can get CP moving the ball. I say we start the game passing until we get something going. For get trying to run from the start but after we connect on a few passes then start to work the run into the game plan. I don't care if we go 3 and out a few times trying to pass but keep trying until we can move the ball.

Re: Redskins vs. Ravens pre-game thread

basiclly...i just wanna see offense. I know Ed Reed is a little banged up, he was having trouble getting to receivers/ballcarries last week, but this is the same guy that can ruin our day so i dont know how important that is.
Were def commin up with a couple INTs against Flacco. I like the way our CBs have been playing..especially early in the game when theyre not worn out and tired because theyve been on the field all day (exeption last week). Theyre run game is hardly impressive. Our Run Game (especially with CP so iffy these days) is in question if we cant pass...more like in deep shit. This week we need to pass til we can run.
..well here goes......

Actually their Rush/game is 3rd, ours is 5th. They also, like the Giants, have figured how to score. The Redskins need to win, just so I have peace at work though! Hope that is enough motivation for them.
Think it comes down to Suisham's night.

I think the Ravens D is just as good as the Giants and this week's result will be the same as last week.

It took a trick type play for the Skins to get their only TD last week and I just dont believe that the Ravens will let that happen. The Skins just dont score points (on O, D, or not-so-special teams) and that makes it hard to win.

I understand where we may score very few points. but what I don't get is why the Ravens would score more than 20 when our D has shown the ability to hold most every team to below 20. (i know a few have, but the Ravens arent in that caliber yet)

You are correct, the Skins D gives up 18.5 points per game. Unfortunately the Raves D gives up 15.8 points per game.

The Skins O scores 17.3 points per game and the Ravens get 24.3.

No matter how you cut it the numbers dont add up for the Skins.

Why is it that you only appear to dump on the team? I have no problem with fair criticism, in fact I encourage it. But, to do nothing but attack the team gets so old. Do you talk like this about everyone and everything you love?

Its really, really hard to argue with this logic and the facts of the assessment. Sadly, I agree with you.

The offense continues to struggle against another good 3-4 D, but our D bails us out with a score.

Re: Redskins vs. Ravens pre-game thread

I'll make a prediction since I haven't the last four games.

Skins 16
Ravens 13

We need to win turnovers battle, because if we lose that then it's donezo.

In a super, ultra boring game, our defense scores the only touchdown.

Skins 10, Ravens 7.

If we can't stop the run, we lose 20, 10.

Something tells me Jason Taylor plays his best game of the season this Sunday and comes up with 2 sacks.

If we score a defensive touchdown, we'll win.

I'm actually certain that the Redskins are too fundamentally solid of a team to lose a game in which their defense scores. Problem is, the only defensive score that has occurred in a Redskins game this year came off a fumble by our Guard.

It has been that sort of year. When looking for reasons why we don't score points, I think it starts with the fact that the defense and special teams have combined for all of six points by players not named Shaun Suisham, who has his own problems anyway.

I agree with the Jason Taylor part. He actually looked good (on the pass rush at least) against the Giants, and if we stop blitzing so often, I would expect his success to continue.
