I love this board in the off season.....but
Man oh man here it is week one and let the drama begin. Zorn sucks, campbell sucks, vinnie sucks, snyder sucks......the #*$*$%((($$$$@@@ season is over....
a few weeks ago, many were commenting that against our division teams we should hope to split and be 3-3 in those games. that seems like a reasonable thought and i realize we are still on track to do that I hate to loose as much as anyone. but seriously,, is cutting/trading everyone and bringing in new coaching in mid season gonna fix everything? I can't imagine

Re: I love this board in the off season.....but
TWP is typically a place for extremes. The Redskins apologists never look critically enough. The haters are always too critical. It's par for the course and for any message board.
In my opinion. We have some relatively serious problems, these problems are: O-line. Predictable and overall weak playcalling. Tackling, especially in the secondary. Pass rush. I still feel like Orakpo at SLB is an absolute waste of talent. Let him pin his ears back. It's not the end of the world, but the team I saw out there is a 3rd-4th place finisher in the division and home once again in January. It's not too late to fix problems, but as of now -- that's what I see. Without playoffs this year, I expect Zorn gone.

Given that we lost by six points on the road to our toughest divisional opponent, the season is over. There is no hope.

Re: I love this board in the off season.....but
I hate to say I agree, because I would love to have some continuity, but this might be the best thing. I get the bad feeling watching this team that Zorn is in way over his head. I guess no one should be surprised, the surprise was him going from QB coach straight to Head coach. He is a good guy, but IMO he looks lost and confused with the playcalling.
And yeah....the drama is always in strong supply around here, it keeps things interesting. ![]() |

Personally I still root for Zorn, but if he screws up this season I would like to see Dungy as the coach instead of Shanahan, Holmgren or Gruden. Shanahan won because of Elway, what happened when Elway retired?

When a team blows 160+ million on 3 FA (Haynesworth, Hall, Dockery) you would expect better performance.

Blowing money is what the Giants just did for Eli Manning. Haynesworth will be worth it. Value-wise, we'll get the better deal.

But at the same time you are being unrealistically to expect this team to have a good game every single time.

Re: I love this board in the off season.....but
Correct, but assuming that certain players will play up to whatever contract you give them is 1950's logic and has no place in modern sports.
