Good move. We gotta do something. Hall, Moss, or someone else. It's not that he's muffed a couple this year, it's that he hasn't done jack in the last few years.

ARE will be released after this season!! He has done nothing for us since leaving Pitt.

Re: Randle El Fair Catches His Way to the Bench
Removing ARE as primary punt returner is a move thats long overdue. However, I don't get making Hall our primary guy... going by the stats provided in the article, it doesnt look like he was that good at it. In addition, as our #1 corner, i'd hate to risk Hall getting hurt on a punt return. I just dont like the depth behind him. Add to it the fact that Hall would be receiving a return immediately after being on the field playing defense, and he might be too tired to be effective.
To be honest, i'd rather have Moss as our #1 guy. He's explosive, would be "fresh" when taking his returns, and we have more depth behind him at WR than at DB, should he get injured.

I still would rather have Devin Thomas.
The few times Campbell has gotten him the ball in space, he has absolutely made plays.

One way or the other, I'm glad El is on the bench.

He's never returned punts but I wouldn't be offended by him at least splitting time with Rock at KR.

Re: Randle El Fair Catches His Way to the Bench
While I'm thrilled they FINALLY benched ARE, I'd rather have Moss back there than D-Hall. Moss has proven he can be explosive on returns, and has recent experience in doing so for us. When was the last time Hall returned punts? At least a few years. I mean, if we're going to put an important high-dollar starter back there, why not Santana?
EDIT: Maybe I should read the article before posting. Moss will still get some returns, and the last time Hall returned a punt was 2007 with Atlanta.

Re: Randle El Fair Catches His Way to the Bench
I cannot say I agree with this particular move, although I agree that production here gas been lackingdone. This is what I find distressing about this move -- the article states: In his 13 career returns, he [Hall] has three fair catches, two fumbles and an average return of 9.5 yards.
Of 13 career returns, 2 fumbles -- that is WAY too risky at about once per game. My vote would be to give someone else the job. |

Hmmm? With his large cap number...is El still going to be here next year? That's alot of money for a slot guy.
