ugh, we will lose again if our air game still isn't there. Gibbs finally realized Portis's strengths and weaknesses, we'll continue to see Sellers in as fullback and more pitchouts and tosses, Portis WILL produce this way (Betts too).

the problem is, if Sellers is in, we give up a TE or receiver and Brunell will be running around again and throwing it away when pressure comes. basically, this game will hinge on our receivers getting SO open that Brunell would dare to throw the ball to them AND close enough for them to actually catch it.

our defense will need our best linebacker spying Ahman when we send the others in to blitz. hopefully LaVar is ready, although i have confidence in Pierce to be able to track and tackle him. our DBs will have to hit hard cuz Favre is accurate and WILL get the ball in the receivers hands...thankfully we have some hardhitting DBs! Springs is big, Taylor is finally getting comfortable, and our smallest DB is 'Iron Man' Smoot!

Brunell is under the ultimate pressure now, especially after Portis's big day, the QB is generally considered the broken part of the offense. how he reacts to this pressure will determine this game and basically our season. it could make him think LESS to get him nice and instinctual with those clutch laser TD passes to Gardner we seen him do, or make him think too MUCH and continue having him throw it away or off-mark like we seen him do more...

question is, if he has a bad 1st half, think Gibbs would put Ramsey in? it's our season now...

Our offense has to step up this week in order for us to win this game. If the O scores two or three times (TDs) and doesn't turn the ball over, I think we can win. We have to contain Ahman Green and force Favre into mistakes. If all this happens, I see us winning 24-14. If not we lose, 28-10.

Ahhh lets see.

First of all, this game makes or breaks our season, I think. If we win this week, I think we will start go get on a roll and head into Philly 5-4, because I think we still have a better team than Detroit or Cinci. But one week at a time so ....

This game depends on our offense. Our D is going to give up somthing, GB will be able to put up a couple TDS, thats without any help from our offense. Our defense is good, but I still dont think that were good enough to stop GB like we have. 14 points is pretty damn good against the Packers if we can do that. Now if our offense has no passing game, we wont win. I think Portis will have a big day, but if our passing game isnt there, its not going to matter. This is Brunell's week to silence all the critics, if he stinks this week, I'm going to go crazy. I think we win, since were at home coming off a bye. I'll say 24-14, however, I'm not holding my breath for us to score 24 either.

I am the eternal pessimist...We get pounded in this game guys...sorry. This is by far the best offense we've seen. With the way our offesne has played expect our Defense to be on the field a good 40 minutes which means big points for Favre and company. I am thinking like a good 31 to 10 thrashing seems about right. Only way that changes is if Burnell gets hurt early and we go to Ramsey. This will change our play calling to a more downfield attack (since he can't move) which could open things up a bit and keep our defense rested. I am not a Ramsey disciple but I think it is time he gets his chance. Maybe this will be the day.

i just cant see how anyone who is a fan of any team can think that they are gonna lose, especially by a big margin.

Just because I am a fan doesn't mean I can't be objective about the team. We suck right now...I don't like it, you don't like it, no around here likes it but it is true. So don't give me bs about thinking we are going to get our asses handed to us. The true mark of a fan isn't fooling yourself into thinking they're going to win every game...it's supporting them even when they are losing. Be realistic man...does it make much sense to try and think we are going to win every game? Not if you're honest with yourself.

I think this is the make or break game for the season. With a win, we go to 3-4 and are on the brink of respectability and maybe building some momentum. A loss drops us to 2-5 and makes breaking .500 a difficult task. I think our defense will keep the game close but it's going to be up to the passing game to pull us through. Breaking down position by position:

QB-Packers
RB-Even
WRs-Even (based on QB play, with even QB play I'd give the nod to the Redskins)
OL-Packers
DL-Redskins
LB-Redskins
DB-Redskins
Special teams-Packers
Coaching-Redskins

Redskins 20-14.

Paintrain.......I concur for the most part.........In live in texas so got to see the Cowboy/Packer game....Sherman called an EXCELLENT game plan last week when he took over for his assistant who just came back from heart bypass surgery. So perhaps call it EVEN on coaching........ I think it's going to come down to whether we can muster a better passing attack than we have in past weeks. If Burnell can get the ball down field, then Coles should have a good game against their secondary, especially if Sharper is hurting with his knee injury or doesn't play. Favre is amazing and the Pack has an excellent O line, their receivers have good speed, and the Pack has a solid running back in Green but he's nursing an achilles injury. Their defense is their weakness, while our defense is our strength....Our CBs can match their WRs. The Redskins cannot turn the ball over with stupid mistakes. Since our D is stronger......Redskins win 17-13.
We also have an election outcome riding on this game........

If our offense turns up we'll win big. If not it'll be a long day.

The D will make a huge statement regardless.

The one thing I expect to see this week is Brunell playing smarter football. He is probably going to keep on missing on a lot of deep balls, he may keep overthrowing some guys and underthrowing other guys, but if he can go a couple of games without throwing a pick 6 then our offense will at least stop beating us and our defense won't have to play a perfect game for us to win.

This week we have a good chance to win. I think Springs or Washington is going to score for our defense this week.
