RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)

doesn't appear to be very solid, but there have apparently been "discussions"

Is Quinn really an upgrade over Orton?

So does this mean Kyle Orton's going to come out and demand a trade?

To me this seems absolutely horrible lol.. Brandon Marshall has shown that he's going to be a succesful receiver with a pro bowl QB or not. Brady Quinn on the other hand had a good college career but besides two or three games hasn't done anything for the browns in my eyes. I see Derek Anderson being a better QB and this makes me wonder what they'd do for Jason Campbell...

Denver valued Orton higher then Campbell when we were trying to get Jay Cutler, thats one of the main reasons they made the trade with the Bears over us. Thank God....

lol yeah i didnt want cutler either...but i mean if we could land marshall that would be great cause i really doubt that the broncos would do "self trade rape" for quinn. If i had to choose tho i would rather pick up Peppers than marshall but i wouldnt be surprised if we end up with both.

Can we please stop using this overused cliche? Orton was not valued higher over Campbell, the Bears just made the Broncos a better offer. It had nothing to do with Orton being better than Campbell. I'm sure that if Snyder had given a better offer than Chicago, the trade would have happened.

Thank you. Everyone conveniently forgets the huge draft picks involved in the trade.

I wanted to say the same exact thing, but decided that those who want to see it that way, no words are going to change their opinion.

Its been a while now, but i thought everything i remembering hearing was that the Redskins were offering essentially the same thing (two first and a third plus their QB) for Cutler. But Denver valued Orton higher then Campbell.

Where did you hear that the Redskins decided that the draft picks envolved where too high? I found this that seems to go along with what I remember with Orton valued over Campbell in the eyes of the Broncos, I forgot about the 3 way deal talk. But maybe something came out later with more details?

Cutler traded to Chicago | Washington Examiner

However, the deal involving the Browns unraveled, prompting Chicago to jump back in and offer a less-complicated deal, knowing the Broncos liked Bears quarterback Kyle Orton. The source said Denver’s preference of quarterbacks was Quinn and then Orton. They were not high on Campbell.

So, rather than do a three-way deal with Washington and another team, the Bears, according to an NFL source, called to offer Orton, two first-round draft picks, and a third-round pick in exchange for Cutler and a fifth-round pick.

“They had the compensation,” another NFL source said of the Redskins. “In the end they chose Orton over Campbell.”
