LT for Portis?
I have a few straight up deals that popped through my head:
Ladian Tomlinson for Clinton Portis? Brandon Marshall and Chris Kuper for Santana Moss and Carlos Rogers (throw in Randel El if we have to)? Kerry Rhodes for LaRon Landry? Do you think any of these will happen or should happen?

Re: LT for Portis?
Kerry Rhodes for Laron Landry? Well, the Jets already have a safety suited to play up closer to the line of scrimmage who can't cover very well (Leonhard). Not sure why they'd want to add a hot head who can't cover his eyes and has no clue what tackling means.
And sorry, but Santana Moss and Carlos Rogers aren't worth Brandon Marshall by himself, let alone a package deal with Kuper. "Throw in Randle El if we have to" ???? Dude, I would trade Randle El for a side of rice pilaf at this point. LT for Portis? Two high-mileage backs pretty far past the prime of their careers. I'd say it's an even swap, except LT has more character in his big toe than Portis has in his whole body. I'd take all of these trades. Unfortunately we need to get Mike Tannenbaum, AJ Smith, and Brian Xanders high on crack to have a chance.

Re: LT for Portis?
^^ the point is to give two franchise backs a change of team, which they both need IMO. Plus Shanny doesn't seem to be big on Portis and according to league sources and peter king, Shanny loves LT. Thats why I came up with this scenario.

Re: LT for Portis?
Well, you have right idea, in general.. But LT is more likely to be released (based on the rumors), so why would we should attempt to try and trade for him? Beside I'm pretty sure Chargers would not want to take on Portis's contract, especially when LT's financial situation is the main reason why he might be released..

Re: LT for Portis?
I'd trade Portis for Lawrence Taylor.

I'd rather see what we have with Ganther, Alridge, Mason, and whoever MS drafts this year. Lets get younger and healthier. |

Re: LT for Portis?
Trading player(s) for player(s) is rare in the NFL. Draft pics for player(s) is the more likely scenario. I dont think anybody is stupid enough to get Portis in a trade. First he is about done, second his contract, and third is he probably(hopefully) gonna be released anyways.

Re: LT for Portis?
LT may not have much left in the tank, and like Grid Iron26 mentioned, he may be a candidate for release. I would like to see us do the same thing with Portis and make an effort to sign Chester Taylor.

Re: LT for Portis?
I think the Viking are going to try to retain Taylor. He has low miles for his age. I like the way you think.

Re: LT for Portis?
I read somewhere that Taylor said that he's wanted to play in washington for awhile, plus peter king has DC as a possibility for taylor, so this could definitley happen.
