Matt Leinart Benched for Cards' Game vs. Bears

Matt Leinart benched for Saturday; could be done in Arizona | ProFootballTalk.com

So, uh, who is Derek Anderson's agent and what do I need to do to have him represent my family?

And this would have to move John Skelton front and center into Offensive Rookie of the Year watch.

How great would it be to dangle Donovan McNabb to them now and see what they'd give up? They're a C+ QB away from contending.

I know that's not something the team would consider, but I'd think that we would get their #1 and maybe a player out of it...

I look forward to a season long breakdown of Rex Grossman starts.

No. The depth of work they do is incredible, and well worth the price they charge, IMO, but from a football research perspective, their stats do not scale well to any point or yardage equivalent, and so I can't make use of them directly.

Or put another way, "GTripp doesn't have any money."

I'm not sure that it is worth tanking our entire season just so that we can get the Cards #1 pick.

You're right, the team wouldn't consider it, not at this point in time anyway. Plus, I don't think any team would be willing to give up a #1 for McNabb. The Eagles got [from us] the best deal they probably could have gotten despite the fact it came from within the division.

Leinart was a very good collegiate q/b, I just never saw it at the NFL level.

what kind of logic is this? we finally have an NFL caliber QB, and you want to trade him? and he would make the cards a better team, meaning a crappy low end draft pick. sometimes i wonder....

I'm looking at it completely from "we got this guy for a 2nd, now there's a complete team with a need, we can make a profit (i.e. better/more picks) standpoint. I know it's fantasyland. Unlike some others, I don't see us as a playoff team this year, and I think eventually this thing with McNabb is going to end badly. So throw sexy Rexy in there for a year and draft the heir apparent next yr.
