Pittsburgh Steelers won't franchise WR Mike Wallace, source says - ESPN


They need to get rid of this RFA tender bullshit.

The highest qualifying offer for Wallace is about $2.75 million, nearly matching the amount that Pittsburgh is now under the salary cap. To franchise Wallace would cost Pittsburgh $9.5 million, which it currently does not have the salary-cap space to absorb.

This is so messed up, and not even sure how or why players even allowed this into the new CBA. Basically allows a team to cheat a player out of much deserved money. Why? Because nobody is going to sign him to a big contract AND give up a first rounder for him.

The real question is whether someone will sign him if they think Pittsburgh will match the offer.

Have but they would be ranked by different measures.

It would be cool if I had one measure that could rank college entrants against NFL free agents. You'd think I'd have already have developed that by now. Oh well.

Michael Bush RB (Raiders) is now officially a FA that can sign with any team, I would love to have the Skins sign him instead of Hightower. He's 27 and a horse (245LB's) who would be a nice complement to Helu and Royster.

good stuff. The draft is so deep with recievers, i think your pretty close on stuff. Broyles, Criner, Toon could be those mid round WR steals. I really dont know about that Randle guy, but what ive read, seems very intriguing. Id like to Adams, Hill or the Baylor kid with our second round pick.

I think in FA, I still like V-Jax, Colston, and Garcon. I wouldnt give Garcon a crazy contract but something decent. If we get Manning, I probably would go with #1 WR money, if not, pay him like a solid second. I think there is gonna be alot of over paying for what results you could get.
