why not try plax now?
It seems from reading this article that he is starting to get desperate, if we could work it out getting plax would be the offseason steal of the year.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...len&id=2008556 Gibbs please... ![]() what does the forum think?

I do not know alot about Plax but by looking at his numbers why would he be an upgrade over Gardner.

Re: why not try plax now?
I have actually been giving that some thought myself as his price continues to fall. They could sign plax and then be free to use the 9th pick on a CB. I would really like to get Mike Williams, but after the last few days of defections this would be a way to fill two areas of need.

Re: why not try plax now?
I think Plax wants BIG money if he signs a long contract. I don't think we should give him big money. I don't know that we would have enough cap room to even pay him for one year (his fallback option, according to the article). He'd probably want $4-5 million, I'm guessing.

I think we should avoid Burress at all costs.
Pittsburgh have made no attempt to resign him, and when his own team does that it speaks volumes to me. The guy has serious character issues, i would be amazed if we made any attempt to sign him.

Re: why not try plax now?
yah i am ok with that but he was character issues but if we do get him we would have the fastest offense ever, i would pone the world in madden
i say we get derrick johnson in the draft good lb that says he can play middle, he is compared a lot to lavar and they say he is prolly the best athlete in the draft. Taylor arrington Johnson that is amazing great athletes |

Re: why not try plax now?
I heard Lenny P saying today on ESPN radio that Plax might end up signing a one year deal somewhere and testing the market again next year.

Re: why not try plax now?
I don't think it would be a good fit from Plax's perspective. He would want to sign a one-year deal where he could come to a team with an offense in which he could put up some sick numbers so that he'd have a strong season to stand on when negotiating for his next long-term deal.
Now that we have gotten Patten and Moss, he'd have to wonder where he would fit into the plans. I think he wants to be a #1 receiver somewhere and pile up the stats. Plus, any receiver interested in big stats would wonder if a Gibbs offense is where they want to be, considering the year we just had. |

Re: why not try plax now?
The fact he's gotten such little interest is a bit of a red flag in my opinion.

Why not try to get Law at CB for a year or two? Then you could go after that WR in the first round!

Re: why not try plax now?
isn't that what I've been saying, no but everyone, lets keep smoot, and AP, and stay committed to our players, players are committed to money, as soon as you guy' s who believe this the easier it will be to say goodbye to these guys..........Plax and Law, use 9th pick to chose wisely.....

Re: why not try plax now?
DJ is more of an OLB and thats not as high on the list as WR or CB i dont thin, with marshall and possibly barrow ready to fill in who already know the system and have nfl experience.
plax drops balls like 50/50 and he hasn't proven himself to be capable of being a #1 like he thinks he is... I rather get dyson from FA (titan's other good corner) and pic up williams (who DOES look like he could be a true playmaker right now). |

Re: why not try plax now?
Gotta ride with Firstdown on this one. If you look at the career numbers. Rod 50/50 G. Hactually has beter numbers than Plaxico. Worth it for one year maybe if the Skins stay within the new fiscal responsibility model.

Re: why not try plax now?
Thats what I'm talking about RedskinPete! What is going on with Ty Law? He is '"he best"
corner when free agency started. Who will get this guy? If the Chief's don't step up do the Skins have a shot? |
