Gibbs To Meet With Gardner Today
What do you guys think will happen with Gardner after we were unable to trade him for a pick and we did not select any WR's. It would not surprise me if he is with us in 2005.

Re: Gibbs To Meet With Gardner Today
At this point why not hang on to him and see if playing for a contract helps his production.

You know Matty that's the logical solution, but I say getting rid of him for whatever is addition by subtraction. If we hang on to this guy you know he will find his way on to the field, and we all know what that means, critical drops when we need him most, he's the little girl with the curl, he's nice to look at but he will break your heart everytime, Matty you know it's true, he's been givin every chance to succeed and just when you think he might, he burns us, I say cut the cord and give someone else a chance preferably McCants. I know it's tough not to get back anything for a #1 pick but it's time. |

Yeah that's probably what will happen. Gibbs will make it clear that he wants him to be reliable, I'm sure.

he'll have a big chip on his shoulder next season. So I hope he can resolve his difference with the team

Re: Gibbs To Meet With Gardner Today
I would love to see him come back, do well, get a nice contract with us so we don't have to address WR next year since we don't have a first round pick.

Re: Gibbs To Meet With Gardner Today
I mentioned several months ago that I thought keeping him was a good move because he will never be as motivated as he will be this season. It is all about the dollars gentlemen.
Most of you guys blasted me out of the water at that time. By the way MATTY hope married life is treating you well! |

Re: Gibbs To Meet With Gardner Today
After not drafting a WR and facing the prospect of starting Moss & Patten I now am ready to bring back 50/50 and hope that in his contract year he can at least improve to 75/25...

Re: Gibbs To Meet With Gardner Today
I kind of agree with that too. Good thing is, we have the preseason to evaluate where we are talent-wise. See how he does in pre-season.

Re: Gibbs To Meet With Gardner Today
I think we have to keep Gardner now! I wish we had taken Williams with or 9th pick!! We could have got a good CB at 25.

Re: Gibbs To Meet With Gardner Today
Yeah, I think fan-wise, it would have been the popular thing to do. I really do want to give this decision a chance. I also think that Gibbs must be confident that we will be more than playoff bound to give up that 1st round pick next year.

the skins got the highest rated qb in the draft, according to draft experts.ramsey's a$$ is on the line this season.if he plays like he has the last 3 years,he's not gonna be a redskin next year.i think gibbs know's what he's doing, the man has won 3 superbowls with some very medicore qbs who exceled in his system.

You made a very good point there BRS, Gibbs did win 3 SB's with 2 medicre QB's Joey T. was a good one, but nonetheless Schroeder, Williams, Rypien, Humphries where not great you could argue that before Gibbs got a hold of them they weren't even good QB's, and to maybe compare Campbell in that light is also a very fair comparison I am on board with that, and here's the BUT, Rypien and Humphries were both 6th rd picks, Williams cost us a 5th via trade, Schroeder was the highest pick in the 3rd rd in 84', Campbell was at best a late 2 or a third rd pick before someone would take a chance on him, that's where my problem lies with this pick. |
