I'm surprised by Quentin Griffin's release.

same here, plus also a bit by the hugh douglas release as I thought he was one of the leaders of their team and I didn't think he was too expensive for him but I could be wrong. I bet Jarret Payton and Griffin catch on some place pretty quickly.

What's more surprising is the emergence of Ron Dayne who made Griffin expendable.

Dayne actually looks like a pro runningback now.

Re: Other Cuts From Around the League

Jaamal Green is also an interesting cut along with McDoogles injury and hugh Douglas release .

Green and McDoogle 2 years ago they where the reponse to the fact down the stretech the Eagles D line could not hold anyone or produce any rush through injuries . This leaves Kalu (Thanks Marty a shrude cut if ever there was one) who was a great situational pass rusher and Kerse along with Juqua Thomas and Trent Cole the rookie .

Couple this with letting Simon walk make for an interesting overhaul of the NFC champions D line . I am not taking anything from this I still think they will be at least a really solid unit but everyone talks about our turnover in rosters but it happens everywhere .

The other interesting Eagles cut was Jon Ritchie again an injury casualty but he was a very good player for the team but goes to show how harsh the NFL can be .

I thought it was interesting that Mike Martz waived Joey Goodspeed. Apparently, Good Speed isn't enough on that team.

Well, my three year old thought it was funny.

Re: Other Cuts From Around the League

I do see quite a few ex Redskins on this list.
Delbert Cowsette to Derrius Thompson.

Surprised we cut both Dyson and Farris. Hopefully Farris will end up on the practice squad and Dyson will play for KC.

I'm not sure that Farris would be eligible for the practice squad.
This would be his third full season in the NFL.

I think he spent time injured so he might be able to.

The saints didn't get an exemption, they made the cuts in the hotel by the time they were due.

You could put all those ex-Redskins together and you would have a really fine arena league team.

Re: Other Cuts From Around the League

I thought Hugh Douglas was an odd cut this time last season from Jacksonville. Then again this season with the Eagles. He's not a high salary guy, so I wonder what happens to make teams have to cut him.

he's walking on two bad legs... seriously. With the eagles he was only playing on 3rd down and that was it i believe. He had a good run though.
