Sean Taylor

Redskins.com has a nice interview with ST and man...
I think on Sunday, this guy is going to be a friggin' beast! He has a look in his eyes that says: DESTROY. I really don't have confidence that Orton will make it out of this game on two legs. Seriously.
As far as Taylor's court date: Has anyone heard if it definitely has been postponed til after the season?
PSYCHED FOR SUNDAY!!!

Re: Sean Taylor

I liked that Taylor interview--he seemed mature and focused. Seems like being at Redskins park has had a good affect on him. He is going to kick some serious ass this year. I can't wait. THis is yet another thing ignored by our critics--Taylor is had a great camp, and is learning more and more about how to play free safety in the NFL.

Re: Sean Taylor

Last night, I believe it was ABC, aired a great special on the Redskins. They interviewed Taylor, Moss, and Portis together. I knew they all played at the "U" together, but I had no idea about the personal relationship these three guys have off the field and how they bonded at the U and even since being Skins.

There was one part when Gibbs said during the draft (when Taylor was selected) that after every pick leading up to the Skins' choice, Portis would run over to Gibbs and whisper in his ear, "Coach, Sean Taylor - I'm telling you this guy...."

What I found even more interesting is that there were two other U players available at the time K.Winslow and the kid from the Jets,Vilma, and CP didn't endorse either of them!

very cool. At the scrimmage them three stood together most of the game on the sideline. They had their own little group. all of them are superstars and i hope for the best. I didn't know about Clinton wanting Taylor so much, that is pretty cool. I could only suspect that they wanted antrell rolle in the draft, i think antrell and sean have been friends from before college, that would have been cool, to know someone play together in colllege and then again in the nfl. But i am more than happy with my man rogers

Re: Sean Taylor

Yeah, I get the feeling they were all pulling for Gibbs to draft Antrell. Can you imagine 4 "U" players on the Skins - all of them studs! I have to get a copy of the program, I mean they were all just sitting there outside, very relaxed, in a very conversational and joking tone. It was great to hear them even address Taylor's off the field incident this summer. How they were each pulling for "Sean", as they made references to Taylor as he sat next to Moss. These guys are convinced that the NFL has not seen a saftey of the likes of Sean Taylor.

Taylor said that he now sees the value of being in camp for OTAs and being a part of the team and so forth. He said there is a "definite possibility" that he will alter his off-season regimen and begin to join the team going forward. He basically conceded that he has made some mistakes in the past but is ready to move on. I really hope this legal thing blows over.

The segment basically ended with Portis saying the team made the right move by bringing on Moss for Coles. He acknowledged Coles being a very good receiver but that Santana was special. When the reporter asked Taylor about Moss v. Coles, Taylor responed that any guy who has worn the Green and Orange (U colors) will always give you a 100%! Finally when Portis was asked can these three help bring a ring back (paraphrase) to D.C.? Portis quipped, we're gonna sure as hell try!!

Hail to the Skins!!!

You may be right. That look in his eyes in that interview is just friggin' scary. He had that "LT" look.

Re: Sean Taylor

Taylor case scheduled to go to trial Sept.23rd 05. I don't have a link but there's an article in today's Wash.Post. It could be that it will be continued until after the season but as of right now it's Sept.23rd.

Re: Sean Taylor

I really hope Sean is sincere about being a team guy from here on out. It gets harder every year to believe professional athletes when they say that kind of stuff. Seems kind of programmed on their part. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a pessimist; just concerned about the guy's sincerity.

Here's to hoping he cleans up his act off the field and has a monster, pro-bowl season.
