True. I could see a second and 4th depending in how much playing time he gets this year. If he plays the first 3-4 games and we go 2-1 or 3-1 I see us getting much more for him.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
It all depends on what the market is for QB through free agency and draft. This off season is perfect time to trade Cousins away because few teams are starving for a legit QB, but we need him. All we can do is hope that, in Cousin's last year of contract or whatever Shanny's plan is, the QB market is similar to this.

True but you never know, it could be a team that has two first rounders and isnt set at QB

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
No need to rush on trading Cousins. There's always a shortage of quality starters in the league. Someone is always looking for a QB.

agreed, not to mention I would like to see Griffin go a whole season and show he can protect himself. I expect he will, but would like to see it first before Capt Kirk is traded away.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Wouldn't it be great though if we could trade cousins for a first rounder in 2014, and the team that trades for Kirk ends up having the worst record, which leads to us getting the first overall pick and we get clowney. Oh the possibilities that could be.

I am not only in no hurry to trade Cousins, I wouldn't mind if he stayed a Redskin long term. Not going to happen, but there is value in having a solid back up who could otherwise be considered a starter.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Cousins is a damn nice insurance policy.
We need to forget hes even on the roster. No one should be so stupid as to trade away their insurance.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
What is this Cousins talk? We need a young capable backup, and for the med to long term as well. RGIII is all that, but he is also one massive hit to the knee from maybe calling it a career or just being injury prone. Also, with the my aforementioned post about Kolb and Cassell being overrated busts, that were made hot for just a few games of work, might have teams cool on Cousins. Cousins didn't even get a full 2 games in.
