So Smoot, you were mentioning the musical chairs that seems to be happening in the Front Office - do you not expect A.J. Smith to be considered as the general manager? Do you feel it's going to be someone completely different? Do you have your ideas who those candidates are for this job? Will it be more of a promotion within or an outsider deal?

Most likely a promotion from within

I agree. Listening to that press conference yesterday, he just seemed like he was done. Sad really, I was hoping he'd get a chance to turn it around. Evidently, he's just not the right person for the job. I'm glad he brought us to a point of respectability, but it's time for a divorce.

I see. So more than likely, we'll know something by the end of the season?

Generally speaking, I feel like we should command huge interest from every damn coach in the country. We have some impressive talent, an owner willing to spend amply to win, a great tradition.

His late career Denver history of defensive and special teams failure and his inability to build a cohesive, balanced roster as a GM may lead to the same result here. End of the day, I'll thank him for solving the QB problem we perennially had, left some playmakers on both sides of the ball and wish him well. Stay bronze.

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Did anyone else see the graphic using the Eagles roster about what $18 million would have gotten us...
8 or 10 players including: Jeremy Maclin DeSean Jackson Nick Foles Conor Barwin 2 starting O-linemen etc. I think we're really seeing the impact of that bogus cap penalty right now. All of the holes in our roster should be filled with a full cap this year, but I was shocked exactly how much talent $18 mill/year can buy.

OL- They couldn't stop a leaky faucet. Please don't mention Trent... he needs a snickers cause he's not him self. Hasn't been for 2 yrs now. WR- Moss is done. He catches maybe 1 ball a game. Morgan is trash. Hankerson shows flashes but not all the time. Garcon can't do everything himself. and Robinson is the new 50/50. The offensive strong points? QB, FB, RB, and TE. Lets move to defense: CB's all need replacing except Amerson. SS/FS need to go and bring in all fresh young talent. As long as I know these new young guys will over time jell and build a report.... I'm in. The strong points of this defense are: DL (but that's not saying much) and maybe....maybe LB. We need a new young leader with a young healthy motor. This whole scheme on special teams needs to go. Seems like the 30 yrd line is the place to be. Punter can't kick high enough and far enough. We can't keep giving teams the ball on the 30 yrd line. and we start behind the 10. |

Man, I still can't baffle myself on why they abandon the traditional offense every other week for the Read Option/Drop back.
We did one rollout off of PA and it resulted in a Touchdown.
