We also had a total of 6 out, or get knocked out, during the game last night (which is another one of the highest figures league wide, but no one else has played this week yet) . I'd also be willing to bet that if you looked at it more thoroughly than I did, you'd find that we had more "key" players injured, but that's subjective and open to interpretation. This is definitely a factor.

That said, our O-line has stayed relatively healthy, and that is one of our weakest areas. We haven't lost either of our "starting safeties" or ILBs, and they are getting beat in the middle every freaking time the opposing team is in the Redzone. Our WR's are pretty healthy, and we have a little depth, but when the ball is thrown to the other team I guess that does little good. Our D-line + Orakpo are pretty banged up, but aren't we supposedly really deep in this area?

Injuries have been bad this year, and we were seriously flawed in some areas to begin with. Gruden has been given a really shitty hand for his first year as Head Coach. Let's see how well he can keep this shit together through a rough year, let's see if anyone makes any progress this year, and let's see if we address our glaring needs in the offseason (and no I don't mean QB, although . . .).

Well, he has been injured both last year and this year, but it was Niles Paul that was injured last night not Reed. He had a bad hamstring pull week 1 and hasn't played since. We should see him out there again soon. Let's see if he can make it through the rest of the season before giving up on him.

Re: injuries

Well, he had a concussion. It's something you recover from in the short term relatively quickly if all goes well, I think, but of course there are serious long term repercussions. I'd be willing to bet he'll play against the Seahawks, but it all depends on how quickly he progress through the required steps. Gruden said today that he is being monitored accordion to protocol. I was curious so I looked it up:

"After a player-patient has been diagnosed with a concussion, he must be monitored on a daily basis, or more frequently if clinically indicated in the opinion of the Team Physician, through the Return- to-Participation Protocol (described below). Team medical staff should consider the player-patient’s current concussive injury, including an in-depth consideration of past exposures, medical history, family history, and future risk in managing the player-patient’s care."

Steps:
1. Rest and Recovery
2. Light Aerobic Exercise
3. Cont. Aerobic Exercise and Add Strength Training
4. Football specific Activities
5. Full Football Activity / Clearance

.

Pretty sure the Giants either tied or set a record last year with 40 different starters though the season .

Re: injuries

Players lost to injury is not a good enough excuse to explain away the outrageous size and noxious odor of the turd the Redskins laid on the Fedex turf Thursday night.

Re: injuries

I hate to make excuses especially when as a redskins fan things seem so constant, but I harken back to Smoot's pregame tweet about people, myself included, thinking Halls absence (especially on a short week) was going to be a plug and play scenario. Between having a rookie corner and a fairly inexperienced MLB in Robinson AND the offense giving up the ball several times inside our 40. Well that's a recipe for 45-14

well, theres injuries and there is sucking, in the giants case. But the last superbowl run the packers made, those guys were truly decimated by injuries during the season, including during the time we played them. They overcame it. This team apparently cant.

Re: injuries

Not sure any team can survive through the injuries we've had. QB out, best CB out. Top two TEs currently out. Plenty of others nicked up and clearly not 100%. Depth only goes so far on any roster.

Re: injuries

Not having DHall really hurts. Our pressure defense, when working properly, limits offenses to short-medium throws and gets sacks. But this requires pass defenders who can cover those routes. Without such defenders, offenses can throw high percentage passes at will and thus take Kerrigan and Rak out of the game. And, unfortunately, Amerson seems to be the only pass defender who can make it work, and even he struggled against the G-men.

Many teams have injuries ,it's part of the game but I do agree with who ever said that they believe it has to do with the "new collective bargaining agreement" and the hitting in practice rules .
