Re: Bye Week Thread

Speaking of DC, I just learned today that Greg Manusky is the DC for the Colts. Didn't know that. Loved him as a player -- he liked to hit.

Now that the Raiders are finished with him the only other team stupid enough to sign him is the Skins.

I had no idea he was 6-6 240. So fast too. Dang.
Edit : wikipedia lists him as 6-4 but than the article says 6-6?

If I was Jay I would tell Has that from now on we live and die by blitz. And if he can't make adjustment at half Morris will be in charge of doing that.

Yep, for a 7th round pick which is essentially giving him away. Seattle cut for final roster cuts.

I dont have a problem with a team bringing him in for training camp because you need bodies but actually signing him during the season thats just stupid especially when you consider all the other shortcomings the Skins have.

If Jay did that, then he should just go ahead and fire him and let Morris take over for the rest of the year.

Why would it be stupid if he can be better than the one person on the team that he would be replacing?

Its not like there are 27 pro bowl tackles just sitting there. We arent missing out on the second coming of Ronnie Lott if we sign him. Why does a shortcoming at a position that cant be corrected now mean that we shouldnt sign a player at a different position if he can help us?

They are working him out. If he doesnt improve the team, he doesnt get signed. If he can improve the team (which I seriously doubt he can) then he should be signed regardless of whatever other shortcoming is the flavor of the week.

You don't spend even a 7th round pick on camp bodies. Camp bodies get signed off the street. Seattle could have done something different with that draft pick.

Pryor is not the only personnel error made by Pete Carroll. In fact, if you see what Carroll has done bringing in QB's (Matt Flynn, anyone? Tarvaris Jackson?), Russell Wilson looks more like "even a blind squirrel finds a nut" luck and less like a stroke of personnel genius.
